“Anna.”
“Master Nina.”
Nina apparently was Anna O’Connor’s teacher and taught her quite a number of her fighting skills and techniques.
“You did well out there.”
“Thanks. I reckon your sister is not pleased.”
“Hardly...And when she finds that I am training you she would be even jealous.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised.”
“Well, anyway...Good luck tomorrow, Anna.”
“Same to you...Master.”
Catalina soon joins Sophie in the swimming pool as both decide to have a friendly competition with each other to see who could swim the fastest in 100 meters using only one stroke. Both were quite well matched as Hwoarang was in the bar drinking as he was quite confident he could win and beat those ‘kids’ who he deems as pathetic.
“I can beat those kids with both hands tied behind my back...They do not stand a choice.”
Paul was in his hotel room doing some pushups with Bryan and Miguel nearby watching some comedy television as Marshall was out along with Craig and King.
“Come on, Paul...You are number one!”
“Yeah, amigo...Numero Uno!”
“Indeed, my friends...Indeed.”
Paul was up to fifty-six pushups as he continues with him sweating. He only wore his red tracksuit pants and no top, which exposes his muscular chest.
“How many is that now, Paul?”
“Uh, Fifty um...Fifty-nine and sixty.”
“Going to make it to a hundred?”
“I certainly am going to try.”
“Good.”
Paul continues doing his pushups as Bryan decide to get himself a drink that was in the fridge.
“Like one too, Miguel?”
“No thanks, amigo.”
Bryan takes out an ice bottle of ginger beer and drinks it.
“Ah, that was good.”
“It’s ironic, isn’t it, amigo?”
“What is?”
“Out of the six of us only Paul made it through the ‘Round Robin’ rounds.”
“It is ironic.”
“Yeah...Wonder if Paul could whipped that Hwoarang’s ass?”
“Can you do it, Paul?”
“Sure I can, Bryan...Just you wait and see. If I do get the chance to fight him I will kick his ass from here to Hong Kong than up to China and back to where that son of a bitch came from.”
“I hope you can do it, Paul.”
“Count on it, Bryan...You can count on it.”
All of the sixteen fighters gets by their day with them training hard as late that night, Sophie was on the roof top of the hotel doing some sparing with her grandfather. Sophie fights hard as Heihachi knew she really wants to help Alex and at the same time bring his father to justice something that Heihachi openly agrees.
“You desire to save the bloodline?”
“Yes, I do, grandpa.”
“Well, be careful out there, Sophie. I have a feeling Kazuya would not make it easy for you or any of us.”
“I will bear that in mind.”
“One more thing.”
“Yes?”
“Tell me, Sophie...Do you like Alex?”
“Uh...Yes. I do.” replied Sophie speaking plainly.
“Glad to hear it. Good luck tomorrow.”
“Same to you...grandpa.”
Both grandfather and granddaughter continues to spar and train up for the big day tomorrow as neither of them knows how things will play out but Sophie believes that she will triumph over her father.
The next day has come with the main stadium itself packed with thousands of people as some G Corp soldiers were on the rooftop of the hotel keeping an eye out on things as the hotel and casino was quite close to where the main stadium was. Lee Chaolan is in the announcement box that is much different than the one he used while in the smaller stadium as there was no roof over the top and a perimeter wall no more than a metre high surrounding it. He was this time dressed in a black tuxedo suit as he first checks to see if the microphone was working.
“Testing...One, two, three...Testing.”
Kazuya sat in his host box as he sat in a throne-like chair with a G label at the cushion area of the seat itself and he wore his white tuxedo this time and Anna was dressed in her red Chinese style-like dress with long stockings and high heels.
“So, you dressing white for this occasion.”
“Yes, I am saving my purple one for the real big event.”
“I understand.”
“Well, Anna...Don’t you think we have a bigger crowd than last time?”
“I would have to agree with you on that one, Kazuya.”
“Indeed.”
Kazuya then gives Lee a nod to begin making the intro announcement of the ‘Victory tournament’ matches for the 7th Iron Fist tournament.
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Ladies and gentlemen...Can you all hear me?!”
The crowd replies with saying yes as their voices echoed throughout the whole stadium itself.
“Excellent...Very soon we will begin the ‘Victory tournament’ matches. I trust everyone is keen to know who will be crowned the winner of this year’s Iron Fist tournament, right?!”
The crowd once again replies yes as Lee gets straight to announcing the sixteen fighters that will participate in the tournament itself.
“Now let us see who would be our lucky sixteen to participate in this ‘excellent’ event...I call for...Paul Phoenix!”
Paul Phoenix steps onto the stage as he comes out from the fighters resting area where the other remaining fifteen fighters as they wait patiently for them to be called. Paul wore his red karate gi as the other fighters all wore pretty much the same outfit as they wore in the ‘Round Robin’ rounds.
“And next we have...Nina Williams!”
Nina herself steps onto the stage and stood just two feet or so away from Paul’s left and afterwards Lee announces the next fighter.
“Bruce Irvin!”
The crowd cheers loudly as Bruce Irvin enters the stage and he was wearing his green G Corp military battle uniform and as soon as he entered, Anna Williams gives him a big round of applause.
“Good for you, Bruce.”
“And next we have...Josephine Houston!”
Joey herself steps up to the stage and afterwards Lee announces the names of Sean, Xiaoyu, Vivian, Catalina and Anna O’Connor as the ones remaining were Heihachi, Jun, Jin, Hwoarang, Michelle, Patricia and Sophie.
“Well, looks like we are going to enjoy this, right?”
“Indeed we are, grandfather.”
“Well, well...Jin Kazama. I knew you can’t be dead that easy.”
“Hello, Hwoarang...Still looking to get even with me.”
“Whatever it takes, you bastard.”
Instead of getting angry Jin just casually smirks, which only made Hwoarang even more jealous.
“You haven’t change a bit.”
“Damn you.”
Lee announces the next fighter to come to the stage and ironically he called for Hwoarang.
“And next up...It’s Hwoarang!”
“Well, got to go...Hopefully we get to fight each other so I could give you a big whopping!”
“Count on it.”
Hwoarang runs out onto the stage with him waving his arms as his men in the stand rooted loudly for him.
“So, Sophie...”
“Yes, grandpa?”
“You ready?”
“I am.”
“Good...Very good.”
“Next fighter is...Jun Kazama!”
Jun makes her way onto the stage and Kazuya felt a little uneasy to see her, which something Anna seems to notice.
“What’s wrong, Kazuya?”
“Nothing, Anna...I am fine.”
Lee then calls for Heihachi Mishima to come to the stage as he stood right beside Jun and just as Kazuya had expected the whole audience boo him as he entered, which was not surprising one bit. Literally, the twelve fighters all stood in a circle formation but still there’s still a small gap before the circle itself would be completed.
“You ready, Sophie?”
“I am, brother.”
“Keep your head high...Don’t hold back even if you are fighting me.”
“I will bear that in mind.”
“I call for Jin Kazama to enter the stage.”
“Well, here goes.”
Jin enters the stage as he stood between his mother and grandfather as the crowd gives him a moderate cheer.
“Well, it looks like the audience out there are liking your brother again.”
“It would seem so, Michelle.”
“Let’s give it all our best.”
“Yes, Pat.”
“And we will make sure you get to the finals.”
“Indeed.”
“Well, Michelle...I guess you are next.”
“Good luck to you both.”
Michelle heads out onto the stage as Lee announced her name.
“Let us welcome...Michelle Lau!”
Michelle stood beside Jin as Lee announces Patricia to come to stage.
“Next we have...Patricia Wong!”
Patricia makes her way to the stage as the crowd cheers and literally all members of class A including Rose, Eunice, James, Mark, Daiman and Chloe as they flew from Sydney yesterday and arrived late yesterday afternoon.
“This is exciting, isn’t it, Mark?”
“It is, Colin...It sure is.”
“I am just glad you guys could come for this big event.”
“Yeah, we don’t want to miss the big fight now would we?”
“Of course not.”
“I reckon it is a shame that only one of our boys is down there.”
“It is, Daiman.” replied Samuel who was okay with not being able to advance into the finals but is happy to know his good friend, Joey made it. “However, I am glad that several of our classmates including Joey and Sean are there to represent us.”
“Right you are, Sam...Right you are.”
“I trust the six that just came brought the essential outfit, yes?”
“We did, Sam...We all did.” replied Chloe speaking on behalf of herself, Rose, Daiman, James, Mark and Eunice.
“Good...Very good.”
“Mark.”
“Yes, Eunice?”
“You really planned to study religion in depth?”
“Indeed I do...And you?”
“I am thinking about it.”
“Well, since you are eager...Maybe becoming an Eucharist Minister is a good idea. For next year it is.”
“Indeed...I will definitely have a think about it.”
“And last but not least...Ladies and gentlemen, let us welcome our final fighter, Sophie Barkman!”
The crowd cheers and in particular all the members of class A and B even the teachers, Steve, Julia and Zafina, Alcazar and Carreidas clap their hands hard and loud.
“Wow...Looks like Sophie is going to wear the same outfit as she did in the last fight.”
“It would seem so, Vernoica.”
“Tell me, Shirley...You really want to get at that Kazuya Mishima that badly?”
“Yes...I do.”
“For Simon?”
“Yes...He will pay big time...Mark my words.”
“But don’t let that hatred get to you.”
“I know, Veronica. I know.”
“So, ladies and gentlemen...These are our sixteen fighters who will be fighting in the 7th Iron Fist’s ‘Victory tournament’ finals so let us shuffle to see who will fight against who in the first thrilling one on one and one round match?!”
The shuffle procedure begins as all sixteen fighters in the circle watch the fighter selection screen and eventually the first pair has been decided.
“The first match would be...Paul Phoenix versus Hwoarang in the first match of the 7th Iron Fist ‘Victory tournament’!”
The crowd cheers as Paul cracks his knuckles and shows a wicked grin on his face.
“Talk about good fortune.”
Hwoarang also felt luck was on his side as he and Paul gets into position.
“I have been waiting for this moment.”
The other fourteen fighters all make their way to the fighting stand area as they all stood and watch the first match of the ‘Victory tournament’.
“Well, it is certainly a coincidence for the two gang leaders to fight each other.”
“So, Bruce...I suspect this was planned from the start.”
“Indeed, Nina...Indeed.”
While Bruce and Nina maybe enemies but still both share a mutual respect and understanding with one another.
“If we do get to fight, Nina...Don’t hold back.”
“Do not worry...I won’t.”
Sure enough, both Paul and Hwoarang do some arm and leg stretches with both strolling up to each other so stood very close that their noses touched one another and their eyes staring at the other like two ferocious beasts ready to fight to the death.
“I have been looking forward to this.”
“Yeah, so have I...Mad Dog.”
“Says you...Big bad stinking wolf.”
“You dare to vilify me?!”
“Can’t I? Since you vilify me first, remember?”
“Grrr!”
“Hmm...”
“Gentlemen, gentlemen...Please. Let us not get too carried away just yet.”
“What? You...”
“Hey, aren’t you that...”
“The name is Alex...And I will be the referee of this match.”
It was Alex, the reptilian boxer as he was literally a green standing, talking and fighting lizard with the power of speech that enables to speak the human tongue. He usually wears a pair of plain colour boxers, boots and red boxer gloves but for this rare occasion, he wore a croupier-like outfit complete with white business shirt and black bowtie.
“What on earth are you doing here, lizard?”
“Um...”
“Just what are you doing here, reptile? And since when you could speak.”
“Watch your tongue, man...Kazuya Mishima paid me handsomely to do this job.”
“I see...Well, please accept my sincere apologies.”
“That’s all right.”
“Okay, fine...My bad.”
“So, the rules I will explain again...”
“Can we just get on with it?! Please!”
“Hey, Hwoarang...Let him speak.” snapped Paul as Hwoarang was as impatient as ever.
“It’s not even a man, Paul dude.”
“You are unbelievable...Please continue.”
“Thank you.”
Paul seems to have some respect for Alex as due to the fact they work for the same employer.
“Now, the rules of the match are simple...One on one round match with only one round so whoever wins will advance onward to the quarter-finals.”
“Okay.”
“Whatever.”
“There’s no time limit though...And there’s the type of stage you want to choose.”
“Choose?”
“Yes, Mr. Phoenix...The fighter who wins the toss gets to chose the field of battle. And also whoever gets knocked off the fighting stage boundary loses as well and if they jump out voluntary then they have ten seconds to get back in before they lose the match altogether.”
“I see.”
“Okay.”
“So, any questions?”
“Nope...I think I understand perfectly.”
“Mr. Hwoarang?”
“I got you, lizard...Can we just get on with it?!”
“Still a little rough around the edges I see.”
“I heard that.”
“Just cool it...Will you, Hwoarang?”
“Look who’s barking.”
“Damn you.”
“Cool it, gents...I will give Mr. Lee Chaolan the signal for me to announce the match to begin. You can fight to both your heart’s content.”
“Fair enough.”
“Fine by me.”
Alex, the boxer lizard waves a red flag that he carries in his pocket as Lee could see it as bright as day knowing it was time to announce the first match of the ‘Victory tournament’ to begin.
“Ladies and gentlemen...The first match of the ‘Victory tournament’ is about to begin. Paul Phoenix and Hwoarang...So, which one of these two ‘excellent’ fighters will emerge victorious...Let’s find out, folks.”
Both Paul and Hwoarang now stood about ten feet away and get into their fighting stances while maintaining eye contact.
“Ready, Hwoarang?”
“Yeah.”
Eventually, the whole stage changes and it was pretty much like the streets of Sydney.
“Huh...This place is like...”
“Yeah...King’s Cross and right on Darlinghurst Road.”
“Just like home...Let’s rumble.”
“Yeah!”
“On three, two, one...BEGIN!”
“Time to get some ass.”
“YEAH!”
Hwoarang and Paul both side steps as both trying to find an opening with Alex, the lizard referee watching from a safe distance. Literally, Hwoarang made the first move and lunges several kicks at Paul and although he score some hits it hardly fazed him.
“Damn.”
“My turn.”
Paul musters all his strength and strikes a normal punch straight into Hwoarang’s chest sending him a few steps back.
“Impossible...I never thought that a normal punch of his can be this painful.”
Hwoarang winces as he rubs his chest while Paul smirks and taunts him that he is weak.
“What’s wrong, Hwoarang? The fight’s barely started.”
“Grrr...I am not through yet.”
Hwoarang then moves forward and makes one and two attempts to strike Paul and despite the close distance Hwoarang missed both times.
“Damn.”
“Ha...Not fast enough.”
Hwoarang then takes advantage of him being off guard manages to hit Paul in the face with a swift punch that left Paul’s nose slightly bleeding.
“Ow.”
“Was that fast enough for you?” taunted Hwoarang with a cheeky smile on his face.
This however made Paul grunt angrily as he then growls and lunges a series of punches at Hwoarang who blocks every one of his attacks.
“Ha! You missed! You missed!”
The match continues with the two fighters going head to head with each other and the audience were all at the edge of their seats. Bryan Fury and the others all know Paul would give Hwoarang a piece of his mind big time.
“He really has got him now. Don’t you think so, Miguel?”
“Indeed, amigo.”
“Go for it, Paul!” yelled Marshall feeling greatly inspired.
“Kick his sorry ass!” uttered Craig sounding most excited.
“Grrr!” (You’ve got him!) cried King pleased with the outcome.
Paul eventually drove Hwoarang to a corner as this made Hwoarang realize Paul has great stamina and despite him being able to land a few punches and kicks on him it hardly fazed him at all.
“What’s up with this guy? He’s like not feeling anything.”
“I got you now!”
Paul charges towards him like a dog with a bone as Hwoarang quickly does the eccentric thing and leaps out of the battle stage and lands on the outer area with Alex going to the edge to warn Hwoarang that if he doesn’t get back onto the stage within ten seconds then he is disqualified.
“Mr. Hwoarang...I count to ten and if you are not back up here then you lose.”
Funny enough, Hwoarang just shrugs his shoulders and casually told Alex to go ahead regardless.
“Go right ahead...See if I care.”
The cause of Hwoarang’s actions made the audience goes from mixed boos and cheers as Hwoarang gives them the finger as he turns to one side of the audience to the other while giving them the middle finger.
“Go suck a dick, you jerks!”
While Hwoarang made his insults at the audience Paul decide to come up with a way to get him back up to the stage to fight so he decide to vilify him in the worst way imaginable.
“HEY, HWOARANG!”
“WHAT?!”
“You better get back up here or you are a cowering turtle!” shouted Paul pointing at him and literally it worked and Hwoarang falls for his trick.
“Did you just...Did you just call me...ME, a cowering turtle?!”
“Yeah, I most certainly did.”
Paul smirks and feels quite proud of himself as Hwoarang swears he will get even with him.
“Oh, you are good, man...You dare to vilify me that way. I will definitely remember those words you said to me.”
“Then get back up here and fight...Big bad wolf!”
“Fine, broomstick dog...I am going to kick your sorry ass!”
“YOU DARE TO CALL ME THAT?!”
“Sure...Since you head is like a broomstick and I think you use it to clean the floors every once in a while.”
“WHY, YOU!”
“Calm down, man...Calm down. I am coming back up.”
“Good...Let’s get on with it!”
Hwoarang then climbs his way back onto the stage and stood face to face with Paul.
“Ready to fight?”
“Of course.”
“Then you wouldn’t mind if I do this.”
Paul without warning head butts Hwoarang right in the face stunning him and then performs a judo-like throw and threw him next to a plywood wall of a set building that looked close to a retail shop that was on King’s Cross, Sydney on Darlinghurst Road.
“Ow.”
“Now I’ve got you.”
Paul leaps high and attempts to strike down on Hwoarang while he’s vulnerable but Hwoarang manages to get back up and use his legs to fend off the attack causing Paul to back flip and lands right behind him as Hwoarang lunges with a powerful taekwondo kick that smacks him right in the ass.
“How was that?”
“Not bad.”
Paul then spars with Hwoarang on an even footing with the fighters moving back and forward as their match’s ratings go up very quickly as to the members of the audiences it was a thrilling match to watch. Anna Williams shows Kazuya this with her iPad as she can access the match’s ratings through the main computer system of G Corporation.
“Look at this, Kazuya...Even though this is only the first match ratings are going up to 80 per cent.”
“Excellent...Let us hope it stays that way, Anna.”
“I hope so.”
“Well, the next few matches would be just as interesting.”
“It will?”
“Yes, Anna...It will be most interesting.”
“I take your word for it.”
“Yes, yes.”
“I suppose to assume you arrange for Paul to fight with Hwoarang, right?”
“Right.”
“I see...Very cunning.”
“Yes...That is what Paul wanted.”
The fight between Paul Phoenix and Hwoarang continues with no one in the audience able to predict who might win as Hwoarang literally shows off one of his great arsenal attacks.
“You are not going to like this one bit!”
Hwoarang does several very powerful kicks and knocks Paul senseless before he leaps high into the air.
“You dog is going to taste the floor of this one!”
“Damn!”
Hwoarang’s final attack knocks Paul to the ground as Alex moves in and stops Hwoarang from attacking his opponent while he’s down.
“Hold it, hold it...I will count to ten and I will make it quick.”
“Good.”
Alex bends down and starts to count as Paul was still in a daze and with him seeing little cartoon Hwoarang figures flying around his head.
“Ow.”
“One, two, three, four, five...”
While Alex counts Bryan and Miguel roots for Paul to get up and their actions prompt Marshall, Craig and King to do the same.
“Get up, Paul! GET UP!”
“Don’t let us down, amigo!”
Craig and King also urges Paul to snap out of his daze.
“Come on, Paul! YOU CAN DO IT!”
“Grrr!” (Get up, Paul!)
Marshall then urges Paul also and his words have a great impact on him and at that moment, Alex was getting close to the number ten.
“Seven, eight...”
“GET UP, PAUL! Does the world’s number one fighter going to let his enemy beat him?!”
“Nine...”
Paul snaps out of his daze instantly and gets back on his feet, which surprises Hwoarang as he thought he had beaten him.
“Impossible.”
“Nothing is impossible, Hwoarang.”
“Oh, yeah...Want a taste of that attack again?! Yaaaaah!”
Hwoarang again attempts to use the same attack on Paul as Paul this time played it smart and literally runs back and leaps off the stage voluntary with Hwoarang acting totally surprised.
“What the...”
Hwoarang’s boys who were also in the audience seats boo and insulted Paul for being a coward but Paul barks insults back at them.
“You suck ass, Paul Phoenix!”
“You big bull dog!”
Paul puts his arms to his hips in a L-shape position and growls angrier at the crowd.
“You think I care?! I WILL CRUSH YOU! I WILL CRUSH YOU ALL!”
Paul lets his airbag tummy boost forward and then sinks it back and repeats this a few times as Alex decide it was useless to count to ten but Hwoarang decide to use the same vilify technique to lure Paul back onto the stage.
“YOU...You are a cowering turtle!” shouted Hwoarang pointing at him and literally it worked like a charm as Paul barks back at him.
“So are you...Jerk!”
“Yeah, come up here and say that, mad dog...I dare you!”
“FINE! You will regret what you said to me, pal!”
“I am not your pal!”
“Whatever.”
Paul then quickly climbs back onto the stage as he and Hwoarang were ready to continue with their fight.
“Let’s go!”
“Bring it on, bud!”
The two fought with hands and feet as the crowd cheers for them both. Eventually, Hwoarang manages to have Paul in a strangle hold position and was able to prevent him from escaping.
“I got you now, Paul Phoenix! I got you now!”
Paul struggles as he could not bring free of Hwoarang’s strangle but he could see his ass was in front of him so he does the unthinkable.
“OUCH!”
Paul literally bite Hwoarang in the ass as this made everyone in the audience both startled and speechless even Bryan, Miguel and the others were taken completely by surprise.
“Did he just...Just bite him in the ass?”
“You can say that again, amigo.”
“No freaking way.”
“Grrr.” (I cannot believe it.)
“Well, looks like Paul lives up to his name.”
“Can it, Marshall...People say he’s ‘Mad Dog’ and he bites people in the ass when angry and humiliated but...”
“But what, Craig?” asked Marshall sounding quite sarcastic.
“I thought he was going to bite people in the ass in a technically way and not actually doing it.”
“You got me there, pal.”
“That’s just gross. Isn’t that right, King?”
“Grrr.”(Disgusting.)
“See?!”
“I know...But I will bet Hwoarang would need a needle shot when this match is over.”
“Ha ha...I can imagine, Marshall.”
The match went on as Paul bites Hwoarang again in the ass as Hwoarang kicks him away with Paul actually getting out Extra chewing gum from his pocket and puts it quickly in his mouth.
“Yuck! That was gross!”
“You...YOU DARE DO THAT TO THE LIKES OF ME?!”
“Why not...Besides, I think I will have to brush my teeth three times before going to bed.”
“Yeah, serves you right.”
“Come on...Let’s end this match once and for all.”
“Fine by me!”
The two then tackles each other with both striking each other with fast blows and kicks and without using any of their special techniques as they brawl with simple attacks instead. Time went by as both Paul and Hwoarang’s faces were completed bruised all over and literally after fifteen minutes total of fighting Paul emerges the victor as he strikes his ultimate mega punch that blasts Hwoarang off the stage and at the same time, blow a big hole in his shirt exposing Hwoarang’s midriff.
“ALL RIGHT! I KICKED HWOARANG’S ASS! I KICKED HWOARANG’S ASS!”
Paul gloats as Hwoarang was knocked out completely and Alex, the reptilian referee announces the victor of the match.
“Hwoarang is down for the count...Paul Phoenix wins!”
Lee also announces Paul as the victor using the P.A microphone so that everyone in the stadium including the ones outside could hear it.
“Paul Phoenix is the winner, ladies and gentlemen! He will advance onto the quarter finals!”
Paul was most pleased with his victory and cries out in great joy his favourite phrase.
“I AM THE TOUGHEST FIGHTER...IN THE UNIVERSE!”
The audience claps as the medics move in and carry the injured Hwoarang away and they did it in a most amusing way with Hwoarang lying on his stomach than on his back.
“Now let us move onward to the next match of the ‘Victory tournament’...The next match we have Vivian Rosenthal and Catalina Mastrogiorgio...Please step into the fighting stage!”
Vivian and Catalina steps onto the stage as the whole stage set retracts back into is default style with Alex standing in between them.
“You girls ready?”
“Ready.”
“I will explain the rules.”
Alex, the lizard boxer explains to the girls of the rules as both immediately understood it.
“So, stage selection...Heads or tails?”
“I will go with heads.”
“I will go for tails.”
“Very well.”
Alex tosses the coin and it lands right on heads, which gives Vivian the right to make her choice of a battlefield she fancies.
“You have the right of choice, Miss. Rosenthal.”
“Very well.”
Vivian looks at the iPad the intelligent lizard boxer was holding and she chooses a rock type battlefield as the stage changes to a field with large rocks placed at certain areas.
“Get ready, girls.”
Vivian and Catalina looks at each other in the eye and both wishes the other all the best.
“Good luck to you, Cat.”
“Same to you, Vivian.”
“On three, two, one...BEGIN!”
Lee Chaolan announces the match to begin as both girls lunge at each other with their first blow as it was a tie and the impact of the blow stops them both dead in their tracks.
“Here I come, Cat!”
Vivian wastes no time and uses a tackle that knocks Catalina to the ground but she quickly get back on her two feet and returns the attack with a swift kick that whacks Vivian right in the face but ironically there was no bruise on Vivian’s face.
“Nice one.”
“Thanks.”
The two friends fought well with one another with other members of their class cheering for them both as it was kind of hard to tell who will be the victor of the match. Literally, they knew that no matter who wins they will still be happy and pleased. Kazuya observes the two of them as he could see both girls are great fighters with excellent potential.
“Remarkable.”
“It would appear these girls are great fighters.”
“They are, Anna...They are. We will need to keep an eye on them.”
“Just them?”
“No...On all of their fellow classmates as well.”
“I see.”
The fight between both Vivian and Catalina goes back and forth with Bryan Fury and others all wolf whistle as they love the way Catalina was dressed in a purple top, dark blue dress and white stockings with shiny penny loafer shoes.
“Oh, man...That Catalina babe looks very cute.”
“Tell me about it, Craig.” replied Marshall. “Don’t you think so too, King?”
“Grrr.” (Indeed.)
“And not to mention that other girl too...Dashed out in her orange dancing outfit.”
“That girl, Marshall...Oh, I will get her back for what she did to me.” grunted Craig angrily as did King.
“Grrr!” (That makes two of us!)
“I know how you both feel...But for now let’s put it aside. I believe one day you both will get even with her.”
“Fine.”
“Grrr.” (Whatever.)
The match goes on as Vivian manages to gain the upper hand and uses several powerful throw attacks to weaken Catalina further and at the same time, torn her clothes and stockings a little. Vivian apologizes as Catalina was completely fine with that and tells her she will put on the dance costume when the match is over.
“Sorry about your clothes, Cat.”
“Never mind, Vivian...It’s okay.”
“You sure?”
“Yes, it’s fine...Nothing big.”
“Okay...Shall we continue?”
“My pleasure.”
The two friends fought on and eventually Catalina tells Vivian that she has something very important to do and that she needs to go and join the others on the team.
“Listen, Vivian...You have got something important to do. I think we have given the audience something good to look at.”
“I agree...Let’s end this.”
“Right!”
Vivian prepares to go in and use one of her pro-wrestler moves and Catalina does not move until the last moment.
“Now I got you.”
Catalina foot sweeps Vivian off balance and then finishes her off with several fast Wu Shu type combos that knocks Vivian down flat on her back. Alex, the referee goes in and sees that Vivian was knocked out cold and unable to continue so he helps raise Catalina’s right arm to symbolize her victory with Lee Chaolan announcing Catalina’s hard fought victory.
“Catalina Mastrogiorgio is the winner, ladies and gentlemen! She will advance onto the quarter finals! Congratulations!”
The crowd cheers as all the boys and girls of class 10A clap their hands hard for Catalina and Vivian as they both fought very well in the match.
“That’s my Catalina.”
“Yeah, Ken...You are a lucky man.”
“Thanks, Andy...Appreciated that.”
“Well, I guess it is time for me and a few others to go and do that um...Thing. Right, Mike?”
“Uh, right you are, Andy.”
“Well, let’s get going then.”
“Of course...And gather the others.”
“Indeed...Hey, Ken.”
“Yeah?”
“Wish us luck.”
“Uh, sure...I was just going to say that.”
“I know you are.” chuckled Andy as he and Michael heads off and they find Chris as the three of them goes to find the others of their team, a secret task force to infiltrate the ‘Mishima G Casino’ to rescue Alex Choi. Eventually, they met up with Ross, Colin, Shirley and Vivian who was feeling quite all right and still have lots of energy and stamina to spare. They decide to use a vacant room that Alcazar had unlocked earlier, it was a storage room and just enough for the seven of them to fit.
“Okay, team...” began Andy as everyone pays their utmost attention to him. “Let us head to the casino building and rescue Alex.”
“Aye.”
“So, do we follow the plan?”
“Yes, Shirley... We are. We shall go over the plan the general had for us. So, Mike...”
“Yeah?”
“You remember that General Alcazar told us that our entry point would be from the ventilation ducts located close to the underground car park to the south side of the building.”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
“Good. However, we both must be cautious though as who knows if the ventilation ducts maybe booby-trapped and the underground car parks would be installed with surveillance cameras.”
“Of course, Andy...Of course.”
“After that, search your way up from the car parks to the ground floor ranged from G to 4.”
“Okay.”
“And I just vaguely remember who is the second team? I remember something about one of you asking how many floors does the building have?”
“Uh, that’s me, Andy.”
“Oh, right you are, Shirley.”
“What’s the matter? Feeling a little drowsy?”
“Me, drowsy? Never!”
“That’s the valiant Andy Zhang that I know.”
“Of course, of course...Shirley, Vivian...The two of you will find a way in from the east side of the building. Search from floors 5 to 10.”
“Roger.”
“Understood, Andy.”
“And then...Chris and um...Ross.”
“Yes?”
“Yeah?”
“The two of you will come from an entry point from the north.”
“Got you.”
“Understood.”
“Next we have... Colin.”
“Yes, Andy?”
“You will be the getaway...No, our sniper on this mission.”
“Very well.”
“Find a suitable place near the building where you can get a good and decent view.”
“Understood, Andy.”
“Okay...We need to get you something to help with being the sniper...I will go ask the general whether we have something...Wait here.”
“Sure.”
Andy heads off to find General Alcazar leaving Michael and the others as Chris compliments that Andy is a natural born leader.
“He certainly has great leadership skills.”
“He sure does, Chris.” replied Ross. “Don’t you think so, Colin?”
“Indeed.”
“I wonder...”
“What is it, Shirley?” asked Chris showing concern for her.
“I don’t know, Chris...I just have this nasty feeling that...”
“What?”
“It’s nothing...Must be my imagination.”
“Okay...But fingers crossed. We have to rescue our friend, Alex from those villains.”
“I know...I have a thing or two to settle with them.”
“I know you do, Shirley...Just remember don’t let your desire of justice cloud your judgment.”
“I will bear that in mind.”
Sure enough, Andy returns and he was carrying a suitcase in his hand as Vivian curiously asks what was in it.
“I am back, guys.”
“Say, Andy...What’s in the case?”
“Oh, here? Well, it’s a PSG1- sniper’s rifle with laser sighting...It fires rapid shots and um...”
“And what?”
“That’s all I know.”
“Oh, I see.”
“Can you switch off the laser sighting?”
“You can, Colin...There’s a flick switch on the side somewhere marked with a red colour.”
Andy then hands the briefcase to Colin as he bends down to open it and inside was the unassembled PSG1-sniper’s rifle that Andy was talking about.
“Well, looks like I have to DIY the rifle.”
“Yeah, good luck with that and the instructions are inside as well...To give you some extra help.”
“Thanks, Andy.”
“So, Andy...Let us go. Time is of the essence and our friend needs us.”
“Right you are, Mike...So, gang. You ready to get your hands dirty?”
“Yeah!”
They all put their hands on one another as it symbolizes not only their friendship but the team working spirit.
“All for one...And one for all.”
“Let’s move out, team.”
Andy and his friends move out to rescue their captured friend and fellow classmate Alex Choi as they wonder if Alex would still be all right and thus kept their fingers crossed.
“Hang in there, buddy...We are coming.”
Meanwhile, the next match of ‘Victory tournament’ begins with Jun Kazama and Sean Gray as Jun wins the coin toss and chooses a grass element field surrounded with some trees and bushes. The match begins with both opponents managing to score a blow on each other first before the two continues to fight hard and well. Kazuya watches this match very closely as he still shows a bit of concern for Jun as he knew she was the only person who doesn’t really hate him and still shows care for him.
“How interesting.”
“What’s that, Kazuya?”
“It’s nothing, Anna.”
“You sure?”
“I am sure.”
The match continues on with Jun and Sean going head to head with one another with the whole audience rooting loudly for them both. Jun compliments Sean on his skill and agility as Sean does the same.
“You fight well, Sean.”
“Thank you, Miss. Kazama...You are not so bad yourself.”
The two then deadlocks each other with a fist blow as Jun prepares to end the fight with a fast powerful kick.
“It’s time.”
Jun makes a fast lightning speed kick at Sean who counters it using his tai-chi technique and flips Jun to the side and Sean finishes off with a barrel head roll and literally ends the match with a strong elbow struck to the head knocking Jun to the ground thus he was the victor of the match itself with Alex, the lizard referee checking and he signals to Lee Chaolan that they have a victor.
“What an excellent match, ladies and gentlemen...That was quite an awesome fight between the two fighters! We have a winner so let us give a big round of applause to Sean Gray here who will move onto the quarter finals of the ‘Victory tournament’!”
The crowd throws in a big cheer as Sean felt quite proud of himself and eventually he checks on Jun Kazama as she was not hurt badly with Sean helping her to her feet.
“You okay, Miss. Kazama?”
“Yes, I am fine...That was quite a blow.”
“Well, you would be fine, ma’am.”
“Yes...I can see that you practice your tai-chi extremely well.”
The two shook hands as both head off the stage as Lee then announces the next match to commence.
“And now, ladies and gentlemen...We move onto the next match and we have Josephine Houston and Ling Xiaoyu! Would these two fighters please step onto the stage?!”
“Well, shall we go, Xiaoyu?”
“Of course.”
Both Joey and Xiaoyu steps onto the stage as the stage changes back to its default appearance and Alex, the lizard referee greets them both humbly.
“Ladies...I wish you both the best of luck.”
“Thanks.”
“Thanks a bunch.”
“So, let’s begin with the coin toss.”
Eventually, Joey wins the coin toss much to Xiaoyu’s disappointment and Joey chooses a field that resembles a horse race track and eventually the stage changes into what she wanted from viewing from the iPad Alex was holding.
“Wow, this is good.”
“Well, you girls ready?”
“So, Xiaoyu...You ready?”
“Yes...Ready to fight.”
Lee begins the count as Xiaoyu and Joey look at each other right in the eyes.
“I hope you are ready.”
“Just between us...I don’t like the way you are taller than me.”
“I guess the feeling is mutual.”
“Three...Two...One. FIGHT!”
The match begins with Xiaoyu and Joey circling around each other and at first, both appear to just move around in a circle. Before long, Xiaoyu makes her first move with Joey dodging the attack. Xiaoyu then moves onto the offensive and makes several quick fist and kick sweeps at Joey who was able to block the blows without much trouble probably due to Joey having longer arms and legs.
“She has the advantage over me.”
Xiaoyu quickly knew that she needs to figure out another way to get through Joey’s tight defenses other than using standard and quite speedy punches and kicks. She glances at her opponent as Joey then moves in with a judo throw assault that ends with Xiaoyu being thrown to the ground.
“Darn it.”
Xiaoyu promptly gets back on her two feet as Joey makes another bold move at her as this time Xiaoyu was able to evade it but just barely.
“She moves fast for someone her size.” muttered Xiaoyu to herself. “I have to figure out how to lure her close...Close enough for me to get a blow on her. After all, I was taught that size matters not in a fight.”
The battle between the two combatants went quite one-sided with Xiaoyu making all the offensive punches and kicks whilst Joey remaining purely on the defensive but Samuel who was watching his fellow classmate knew Joey had some sort of plan up her sleeve.
“Sam.”
“Yes, Kathy?”
“Why is Joey not fighting back?”
“Well, she has a battle plan up her sleeve.”
“Really?”
“Yes...She is merely waiting for the right moment to get at her opponent.”
“I see...Quite clever of her.”
“Indeed.”
“But Xiaoyu is too a strong fighter...She might be able to figure out what Joey is trying to do.”
“That’s a possibility, Kathy...We will never know who will win.”
The fight continues on as at that moment, Andy Zhang and his team were just outside a short distance to the main entrance of the ‘Mishima G Casino’.
“This is it, gang...There’s no turning back.”
“Like there’s a choice, Andy.”
“Such amusing sarcasm, Mike.”
“Thanks.”
“I guess we move out...Good luck.”
“Okay.”
“Hey, Andy!”
“Uh...What?”
Andy and the others glances back and sees both Alisa and Natsu heading towards them. “We are coming to help.”
“Yes, we are going to help you rescue Alex Choi.”
Andy feels a little uneasy with this while Mike and the others were happy to welcome them aboard.
“Welcome to the team, girls.”
“Thanks, Michael.”
“Yeah, thanks a bunch.”
“So, I take it you are our backup?”
“That’s correct, Chris...Natsu and I are here to help you in any way we can.”
“Well, since you two have come...I suppose there is a role for you girls to play. Isn’t that right, Andy?”
“Right you are, Mike.”
“Glad to hear it.”
“So, what can we do?” asked Natsu sounding quite keen herself.
“Well, you can go in through the entrance and distract the guards there...It would also be beneficial for you to have access to the security room.”
“Consider it done, Andy. Think we can do it together, Alisa?”
“Of course, Natsu...Leave it to us, Andy.”
“Jolly good...Let’s do this, girls. All for one and one for all!”
“Aye!”
“Move out!”
Sure enough, back at the match between Ling Xiaoyu and Joey Houston, the two combatants continue to go head to head with each other. Xiaoyu uses her speed to get the upper hand on Joey as this gave Joey slight difficulty for her to try and get in close with throw attacks.
“Looks like I am too fast for you.”
“Maybe...Maybe not.”
Joey literally manages to grab a hold of Xiaoyu by the leg and throws down right down on her back.
“Jujitsu maneuver...Quite effective.”
“I know...Nice one, Joey.”
Xiaoyu gets back on her feet and manages to score two direct kick hits on Joey before she leaps right onto her shoulders and throws her down to the ground followed by a big thud sound.
“All right!”
This move literally knocks Joey senseless and surprised all the students of class 10A that were in the audience stand.
“She really did...”
“Yes, she did, John.” replied Mark who was utterly impressed.
“Amazing.”
“That was way cool.” muttered Daiman inspired with Xiaoyu’s determination as the girls were all impressed as well.
Xiaoyu pants a bit as it took quite a bit out of her to gain her victory as Joey was indeed a tough opponent to overcome.
“Wow...I really did it.”
Alex, the referee checks on Joey and then raises Xiaoyu’s hand declaring her win as Lee Chaolan announces with charisma on Xiaoyu’s tough win.
“And there we have it, ladies and gentlemen...Ling Xiaoyu is the winner and will advance to the quarter finals!”
The audience gives a big round of applause for her as Xiaoyu felt quite happy and overjoyed as Jin shows a small smile on his face.
“Well done, Xiaoyu.”
Xiaoyu then helps Joey up as Joey compliments Xiaoyu on her win thus Xiaoyu became less bitter with Joey.
“You were not so bad yourself.”
“Thanks. Maybe one day we have a rematch.”
“Count on it.”
The two shook hands and they became good friends as both fighters stroll off the stage with Lee Chaolan wasting no time announcing the next fighters in the next match.
“Ladies and gentlemen...Allow me to humbly announce our next pair of ‘excellent’ fighters. Sophie Barkman and Bruce Irvin!”
The moment this was announced, Kazuya was eager to watch this match from start to finish knowing it would be quite a fight.
“This match would surely be very interesting.”
“Yes, Kazuya...A match between your daughter and my star, Bruce Irvin.”
Sophie and Bruce make their way to the stage as Alex, the lizard referee begins with the coin toss to which Sophie wins and she decides to chose a field of battle that resembles a Japanese garden.
“Okay, take your positions and best of luck to you both.”
Sophie and Bruce stood face to face with each other as they both put up their fighting stances with Sophie using the Kazama fighting stance as Bruce was in his trademark Muay-Thai stance and he himself was a lethal expert in the fighting style and his reputation is second only to Kazuya Mishima.
“So, Sophie...Are you ready to fight?”
“Yes, Bruce Irvin...Let us begin.”
“All the best.”
“And to you.”
Lee Chaolan then announces the match to begin.
“Okay, without further interruptions...Let the battle begin!”
The battle begins with the stage changing to a outside exterior Japanese garden complete with a gazebo, pond, bridge and a small temple as the set itself was just as realistic as the real thing. Sophie and Bruce lunge at each other with their fist attacks as Sophie assumes the defensive with Bruce striking at her with his elbow attacks effectively pinning her down.
“Your father is watching, Sophie...Don’t disappoint him.”
“Is that what you think?”
Sophie was just warming up and she eventually shifts to the Advanced Mishima Karate style and catches Bruce Irvin off guard with Sophie using a combination of the same attack moves as Heihachi and Lee Chaolan with Lee quite irked of Sophie mimicking his ‘excellent’ fighting moves.
“She fights better than me.”
Heihachi on the other hand was quite pleased that Sophie really was a quick learner in the fighting style that Heihachi himself taught her.
“That’s my granddaughter.” replied Heihachi showing a genuine smile on his face as he then looks up at where Kazuya sat and talks to him without saying the words out loud. “So, Kazuya, you are watching this and are you impressed with your daughter?”
Kazuya meanwhile was quite utterly inspired with the way Sophie could use attacks that resemble his, Heihachi and the others members of the Mishima clan.
“How clever you are, Sophie...How clever of you.”
Sophie gets the better of Bruce as he quickly puts up the defense to block most of her attacks but eventually Sophie uses the traditional Mishima head butt that stuns him momentarily and she uses the same punch attack that resembles Kazuya’s own.
“Impressive.”
The powerful blow blasts Bruce to the edge of the fighting stage, which was a stone statue and it was utterly smash to bits the moment Bruce hit it.
“Well, most impressive. You truly are his daughter. However, you will know I will not go down that easy.”
“I know...Shall we continue?”
“My pleasure.”
Bruce leaps back on his two feet and charges straight at Sophie with strong speed knee attacks as Sophie blocks them before Bruce heads butts Sophie in the face and in return Sophie head butts him back with him grunting in slight pain.
“Damn.”
Bruce then throws elbow punches right at Sophie who blows it with her right palm and before long Bruce grabs her close and kicks her in the stomach hard. Sophie grunts in pain as Bruce does it again and eventually Sophie grasps for air.
“And now the power of my tiger knee assault.”
Bruce strikes his tiger knee straight at Sophie’s chin sending her down to the ground as Sophie’s classmates can’t believe what they were seeing.
“This cannot be...This cannot...”
“Oh, she will pull through, Rose.”
“I hope so, Vernoica.”
“Come on, Sophie!” shouted Kathy as eventually all of the classmates present roots loudly for Sophie.
“Sophie, Sophie!”
This made Sophie get back up and with the support of her classmates she has the spirit and determination to continue fighting.
“I will not fall here...Not now, not ever!”
Sophie charges and delivers the same kind of attack as her father by using the so-called ‘Devil Spin’ kick combo assault. She then uses the Kazama style kick sweep that is quite the same as Asuka and Jun’s before she uses Wing Chun and Wu Shu combo attacks on Bruce as he could not find an opening to fight back.
“She’s too strong and fast.”
Sophie stuns him with a kick to the head and decide to finish off with a one powerful attack as she musters electric energy much like that of a Mishima and struck with full power right into Bruce’s fist that blasts him away with him literally smashes another statue and lands flat on his stomach and unable to battle. Alex, the lizard referee moves to where Bruce was to check on him and decide that he was unable to battle and then goes to Sophie and holds her arm high up.
“Well done, Sophie Barkman.”
“Thank you.”
Lee Chaolan then announces Sophie as the winner of the match as he as her uncle was quite utterly impressed.
“Sophie Barkman is the winner and will advance to quarter finals! What an excellent display of skill!”
The whole audience clap their hands loudly and in particular does of class 10A and B whom were most pleased with Sophie’s victory as well as Heihachi and Jin. Even Kazuya was impressed as he too claps his hands in praise of her daughter.
“Well done, Sophie...Well done.”
“I hope Bruce is okay.”
“He will be.”
Medic stretchers came and carry Bruce Irvin off as Bruce had something to say to Sophie and has the medics stop for a moment while he speaks to Sophie.
“Sophie.”
“Yes, Bruce?”
Sophie strolls towards him and asks what does he wish to speak to her about.
“Well?”
“You are a strong person, Sophie...You truly are her daughter.”
“I thank you, Bruce Irvin...You fought well too.”
“Well, thanks...I have a message from your father. He wants me to tell you that ‘I am waiting for you’.”
“I see...Thanks.”
The medics then proceeds to carry Bruce Irvin off the stage as Sophie heads off as well and Lee Chaolan quickly announces the next match of ‘Victory tournament’ to begin.
“And now ladies and gentlemen...We will move onto our next match. Our next pair of fighters would be Anna O’Connor and Michelle Lau. Please welcome these fantastic girl fighters!”
Eventually, both Anna and Michelle make their way up to the fighting stage as the two friends are about face each other with them both feeling a bit tense.
“So, you ready for this, Michelle?”
“Ready as I will ever be.”
“Good luck.”
“Same to you.”
Both made it to the fighting stage and Michelle wins the coin toss and choose a plaza area stage and Lee announces the match to begin.
“Okay, without further interruptions...Let the battle begin!”
“So, let’s make this fight a good one, Michelle.”
“You can count on it, my friend.”
Sure enough, the fight begins with both Michelle and Anna going head to head with one another as Anna utilizes some moves that Anna Williams finds offence to as she knows those moves anywhere.
“Oh, that girl is using the same kind of techniques as my hateful sister, Nina.”
“I must say, Anna...She has potential.”
“More or less, my dear Kazuya.”
The fight goes on as it went for at least two and a half minutes before Michelle outmaneuvers Anna with a counter throw and once Anna was thrown to the ground Michelle takes advantage and leaps right on top of them and delivers several light punches that effectively knock her out cold or at least temporarily. Michelle was eventually crowned as the winner of the match with Lee making the glorious and charismatic announcement.
“There we have it, ladies and gentlemen...Michelle Lau is the winner and advancing to the quarter finals!”
The audience cheers as Ivy, her younger twin sister was greatly pleased with the outcome.
“Way the go, sis!”
Michelle helps Anna to her feet as they complimented each other on their performance during the match.
“You okay?”
“I am fine, Michelle...Just some minor bruises. Nothing big.”
“Well, I guess I got some too.”
“Indeed...Well done, Michelle...You fought well and best of luck in the quarter finals.”
“You were not bad yourself either, Anna...Some amazing moves you’ve got there.”
“Well, I learn them from my mentor.”
“And that would be...”
“Nina Williams.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“No wonder...I saw that Anna Williams up there and she look quite jealous.”
“I am not surprised...My mentor told me that her sister hated her all than you could imagine.”
“I see...Well, see you later.”
“Good luck to you.”
Michelle and Anna heads off stage as the audience gave them a round of applause. Lee quickly announces the next match as he was all fired up to see who will get to the finals.
“And our next match, ladies and gentlemen is Patricia Wong and Nina Williams...Now let us have these two fine fighters to step up the fighting stage.”
Therefore, both Patricia and Nina make their way to the fighting stage as Nina wins the coin toss and chose a fighting field with a swamp nearby.
“Okay, let the battle commence.”
“All the best, Patricia.”
“Same to you, Miss. Williams.”
“Three, two, one...Fight!”
The fight begins with Patricia making her move first as she lunges straight at Nina with a double kick attack to which Nina manages to block easily. Patricia continues with the attack and uses a move that her mentor had taught her.
“Rolling Hurricane kick!”
Patricia makes a spinning kick combo attack that Nina manages to blow but not the last one as it sends her a few steps back.
“Not bad.”
Nina quickly moves in and manages to grab a hold of Patricia by the arm and uses her Aikido techniques to even the odds. The fight continues on with the audience all up in arms wondering who will win the match as both of them seem well matched with one another. Alcazar and Carreidas wonder if their rescue team have infiltrated inside the ‘Mishima G Casino’.
“Hey, Laszlo.”
“Yes, Ramon?”
“Figure that our rescue team has made it into the building?”
“They should probably be inside by now.” replied Carreidas looking at his watch. “They will pull through...I am certainly of it.”
“Well, are you feeling a little anxious?”
“A bit...You?”
“The same, amigo.”
“Right.”
Sure enough, Lei Wu Long and Raven joins them as they have some interesting news to tell them.
“Gentlemen.”
“Raven, Lei.”
“Hey, guys.”
“So, what’s the news?”
“Our main unit is standing by...The Tekken force, Interpol and half of the HK police.”
“Excellent...Are they anxious?”
“Of course...Ready to take down G Corporation now that we have their motive, opportunity as well as hard evidence. I think that’s enough for a raid. Don’t you think so, Raven?”
“Indeed...The time has come to bring Kazuya’s evil plans to an end.”
“And to his associates of course.”
“Of course.”
“Well, gentlemen...With that all sorted out. Let’s relax and enjoy the matches.”
“Right.”
“I suppose so.”
Raven and Lei goes to find some vacant seats nearby to watch the glorious match between Patricia Wong and their comrade, Nina Williams.
“Well, Nina is as good as she ever was.”
“Yeah, so is that Patricia girl...She’s kind of like a tomboy but she is one tough cookie.”
“You have a way with words, Lei.”
“I do, Raven...I do.”
“Well, let’s see how this battle fares out.”
“Ten bucks says that Nina would win.”
“You are on.”
At that moment, Patricia and Nina still went head to head with one another trading blows and kicks as it would seem Nina was gaining the slight upper hand but just barely. Patricia literally was waiting for the right moment to launch her full attack one that would certainly give her victory.
“I can do this.” Said Patricia to herself as Nina continues to strike at her with fast punch and kick attacks. Nina eventually figures that something was not right and sense that Patricia was up to something.
“Hmm, I wonder...”
Nina then strikes a flying kick lunge attack as Patricia leaps high up and right over Nina and first she elbows her in the back and follows up with a powerful desperation assault that would certain be Nina’s defeat.
“This is the end...KUZURU REPPA!”
Patricia launches many spinning kick attacks at Nina as she follows up with several ‘Rising Dragon Punch’ assaults before she finishes off with one all-powerful ‘Shinryuken’ attack that sends Nina high and high into the air with all members of the audience tilting their heads from down to up and way up to the sky and then strike back down with one powerful blow as literally from Kazuya and Lee’s perspective that the victor has already been decided.
“My, my...”
“I cannot believe my eyes, Kazuya.”
“Well, that’s true potential power for you, Anna.”
“No doubt.”
Lee Chaolan was smiling as he smirks and utters the word that he always like to use.
“Excellent.”
Sure enough, Patricia then lunge the right punch and send Nina down as she falls back down to the stage ground itself and eventually she blacks out with Patricia landing right beside her as she pants a bit as the fight took quite a bit out of her. Alex, the lizard referee goes to check and knew that Nina Williams was unable to battle and declares Patricia Wong as the winner of the match with Alex holding up Patricia’s right arm.
“There we have it, ladies and gentlemen...” began Lee making his glorious announcement to all the members of audience both inside and outside of the stadium. “That was an excellent display of skill by Patricia Wong here! She will no doubt advance onto the quarter finals! Another big hand for this valiant teenager, fans!”
The audience gives Patricia another big round of applause as this made Patricia feel more confident in herself as she sees Nina was coming round and bends down to ask if she was okay.
“Miss. Williams. I um...”
“You fought well, Patricia...You certainly are a capable warrior.”
“Uh, thanks...You fought well too.”
“You okay?”
“I am fine...My suit helps prevent from back damage.”
“Oh.”
“Well, maybe one day...We can fight again.”
“Certainly...Just tell me when.”
A pair of medics with a stretcher picks up Nina and carries her off the stage as Patricia also heads off as well with the audience still cheering loudly for her. Michael, in particular was very pleased with Patricia and knew that her mentor would also be most proud of her achievement.
“Way the go, Pat.”
Patricia heads off the stage as Lee Chaolan announces the match as the this match itself would determine the next eight fighters that would fight in the quarter finals that would occur right after this match.
“And now ladies and gentlemen...The next match would be Jin Kazama against Heihachi Mishima...Who will win this one and advance onto the quarter final matches which take place very soon.”
Jin and Heihachi steps up to the fighting stage as Heihachi wins the coin toss and chooses a stage that closely resembles that of the ancient ruins of the fallen Greek temple at Athens.
“Well, good luck to you both.”
“Thanks.”
“Thank you.”
Back at the audience stand, Lei gives ten bucks of America dollars to Raven as he lost the bet.
“America dollars?”
“Well, that was all I had in my pocket.”
“We are in Macau and you know we need to have their currency here.”
“Don’t remind me, Raven...Just accept it.”
“Very well.” Replied Raven as he puts the ten America dollar note in his pocket. “Now this would be an interesting match to see.”
“Tell me about it...Mishima against Mishima.”
Jin and Heihachi were on the stage doing some arm and leg stretches before they get underway.
“So, Jin...Ready to fight like the old days?”
“I am ready when you are, grandfather.”
“Good...Shall we?”
“Yes.”
Kazuya meanwhile smirks as he cannot believe what he was seeing. Jin, his son and his old man actually are getting along well with each other.
“How amusing.”
Anna Williams was still overjoyed over her sister’s utter defeat at the hands of Patricia Wong.
“Well, I have to say it made me felt good to see Nina take a fall.”
“You have already told me that, Anna.”
“Did I? Oh, how amusing.”
“So, this would certainly be an interesting match.”
“I think so.”
“Well, in my opinion...No matter who wins it does not matter.”
“Of course...Because you will still feel happy about it.”
“Precisely.”
Lee then makes the announcement for the match itself to commence.
“Get ready, fighters...In three, two, one...FIGHT!”
The fight then begins with Jin and Heihachi launching their first blow on one another and the impact of it creates a powerful shockwave and ironically, both fighters remain as firm as a mountain.
“Wow, that’s the power of the Mishima family for you, ladies and gentlemen...I cannot see who will win this glorious match?!” announced Lee sounding very taken in by the sheer power of the first blow.
“Give it all you got, Jin.”
“As you wish, grandfather.”
Jin and Heihachi gives it all they got as the two trade powerful blows with one another as the audience just could not take their eyes off them. Kazuya watches as he decide to use this opportunity to observe what his son and father would use what moves to attack one another giving him the instinct advantage of predicting. Jin lunges his combo punch attack at Heihachi squarely in the chest and although it was a direct hit Heihachi seems to hang in there as he for someone his age has exceptional stamina.
“You still fight with spirit, my strong grandson.”
Jin himself was not surprised by this as he knew his grandfather would not go down that easily.
“You still have lots of strength with you, grandfather.”
“Come on, I am just getting warmed up.”
“So, it would seem.”
The two fight on with the whole audience up in arms as Kazuya could barely keep his eyes off them.
“My, my.”
“Wonder when this fight would end, Kazuya? It’s been ten minutes.”
“I know, Anna...One will win definitely but who remains the big question.”
“Right.”
In the end, Heihachi emerges as the victor of the match as it was a tough fight even for him and the audience eventually gives him a moderate clap and applause much to his surprise.
“Ironic.”
“You fought well, grandfather.”
“You were not so bad yourself, Jin.”
Heihachi extends out his hand and helps Jin to his feet with Lee Chaolan announcing the winner of the match.
“Heihachi Mishima is the winner and will advance to the next round! A big round of applause for him!”
The audience claps hard as they seem to know Heihachi himself has turn over a new leaf and is now more compassionate rather than previous power hungry self. Both Jin and Heihachi strolls off the stage as Lee then announces that there will be a short intermission before commencing the quarter final matches as Lee puts it in his own words that it would both be ‘excellent’ and most exciting.
“We will now have a short break, ladies and gentlemen...And very soon we will commence with the quarter final matches! I can guarantee you all that it would be both excellent and most exciting so...Stay tuned!”
Most of the audience heads off to get something to eat or stood up to stretch their arms and legs as Kazuya knew the quarter final matches would be just as thrilling as before.
“I am sure the quarter finals will be spectacular.”
“And have the audience hold onto the edge of their seats.”
“Precisely.”
Sure enough, Lee Chaolan joins them both as he tells Kazuya the matches were completely overrated.
“Ratings have skyrocketed, Kazuya.”
“Of course, Lee...The next part would soon begin.”
“Indeed...The matches for the quarter finals have been confirmed.”
“Understood.”
“So, Lee...I like to ask who do we have in the first match?”
“Well, my dear Anna...It would be Paul Phoenix against Catalina Mastrogiorgio.”
“I see...It would be entertaining.”
“I have high hopes.”
“Indeed.”
“Well, let us sit back and enjoy the show.”
Bruce Irvin then comes in and informs Kazuya that their casino security is being attacked by several teenagers in coloured dance costumes.
“Kazuya, we have trouble.”
“Trouble?”
“Yes, the security teams in the casino are being attacked by several teenagers wearing coloured dance costumes.”
“Really? What kind of colours?”
“Red, blue, orange, turquoise...”
“I see...It must be those tiger cubs going to rescue their friend.”
“What do you intend to do about that, Kazuya?”
“Nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“Let them try and rescue him...Bruce.”
“Yes?”
“Is the special unit in place?”
“Yes, it is, Kazuya.”
“I want you to take charge of it.”
“Understood.”
Bruce then heads off as Kazuya smirks with an evil grin on his face.
“Well, it looks like things are going as planned.”
“Indeed they are, Kazuya.”
“It is excellent for us, brother.”
“Right you are, brother.”
Kazuya and Lee then laughs out loud with their laughter echoing through the whole stadium. Anna just smiles casually as she too knew nothing will stop their evil plans.
Meanwhile, inside the casino building, Andy, Michael have met up with Shirley and Vivian as they have encounter some resistance along the way. Although, it was easy they all knew the hard part would literally reveal itself as the closer they are to where Alex has been held captive.
“Talk about not encountering much resistance.” uttered Andy.
“I guess the closer we are to the top floor...The more enemy goons we will meet.”
“I cannot argue with that, Shirley.” replied Michael as Vivian peeks around the corner to see if the way ahead was clear.
“Hey, Vivian.”
“Yes, Andy?”
“Is there anybody up ahead?”
“No.”
“That’s good.”
“I wonder where the others are?”
“We will find them, Mike.”
“I know we will, Vivian.”
Andy tries to use his cell to call Ross and the others but all he got was a busy and static signal instead.
“I cannot wonder why our communications are not working.”
“They must jammed us.”
“Jammed us?”
“Jammed our frequency, Andy...From radio frequencies to common cell phone signals.”
“Right.”
“So, it looks like we have to do it the hard way to find them.”
“It would appear so, Mike.”
“Well, let’s go and stay sharp.”
The four move along the corridor as they were near the fire exit door that would lead them to the south side fire stairs.
“That’s the fire stairs to the south.”
“Yes...We can make our way up to the top, Andy.”
“Let us hope we do not run into more surprises.”
Meanwhile, Chris and Ross were moving along a dark corridor about two floors above where Andy and the others were as they too try to get in touch with them but find that their communications have been jammed by the enemy, which made Ross suspect the enemy knows they are here.
“I have a bad feeling about this.”
“You can say that again, Chris.”
“I can only hope our friends are all right.”
“They will be.”
“So, where are we at the moment?”
“Let me check...Wait here.”
“Sure thing, Ross.”
Ross heads further ahead to check where they were as Chris stays put. A short while. Chris could hear some footsteps noise that were coming from behind him.
“Oh no.”
Chris anticipated that it could be trouble and much to his luck, he was crouching right outside the janitor’s closest so he has a way to hide himself from being seen.
“If only if this door isn’t locked...”
Chris turns the knob on the door and much to his relief it was unlocked.
“Phew...Better get inside before being seen.”
Chris heads inside and closes the door right behind him and he at first didn’t like being in the janitor’s closet since it kind of smells of cleaning chemicals and all.
“Well, there are some things that you will have to learn to get use to.”
He puts his ear to the door and could hear the footsteps coming closer as outside it was a patrol of G Corp soldiers numbered about five or so as they were on high alert knowing there were intruders in the building. They stopped right outside the janitor’s closest as they use their own comlinks to complicated since their frequencies were designed to operate even when the frequency jamming procedure was in place.
“This is unit 34...Unit 34 checking in with control.”
“Go ahead, unit 34.” replied the G Corp radio operator who’s voice was quite low and dull.
“We are on the 19th floor.”
“Understood...Any signs of the intruders?”
“None whatsoever.”
Chris heard everything they was saying and remains silent to avoid compromising his position.
“Good...Carry on.”
“Right...Let’s move out, men.”
“AYE!”
The patrol heads off as Chris sighs with relief that he was safe and it wasn’t long before he hears another set of footsteps coming back and he wonders if it was Ross or an enemy soldier.
“Hmm...What should I do in a situation like this?”
Chris thinks as he will wait and eventually the person stops close to where the door was.
“Where did Chris go?”
Chris could tell it was Ross and calls to him from behind the door.”
“Hey, Ross.”
“Chris, that you behind the door?”
“It sure is. Come in.”
“Sure. Open the door.”
“Roger that.”
Chris opens the door and allows Ross to come in.
“You okay?”
“Sorry about that...A patrol came by and this was the only place to hide.”
“Don’t worry...I would have done the same if I was in your shoes.”
“Understandable.”
“So, I check on ahead and the way ahead is clear.”
“Good...We are taking the fire stairs right?”
“Yes...We are close to the north one, Chris. We should take that.”
“And hopefully we will meet up with our friends.”
“Yes, fingers crossed.”
“So, I am going to open the door and pray we do not have any more surprises.”
“You can say that again.”
“Okay, on three...One, two, three.”
Ross slowly opens the door and peeks outside the corridor from left to right as much to his relief the corridor was clear.
“Well?” asked Chris wanting to know if there was any hostiles out there. “Any hostiles, Ross?”
“Nope...We are clear.”
“Good...Let’s go then.”
“Right.”
The two head out of the corridor and they head towards the north fire stairs door and as they head towards it someone was running towards them from behind and Ross puts his arm in front of Chris signaling him to stop.
“Wait.”
“Trouble?”
“Yeah.”
Ross glances left and right and sees a door that labels store room and turns the knob on the door and much to his luck it’s not locked.
“Quick...In here.”
Ross opens the door and Chris heads inside with Ross following in afterwards and instead of closing the door whole this time Ross leaves a gap so that he could see who it might be.
“Let us see who it is.”
“Isn’t that kind of risky?”
“I know, Chris...Wait, here comes that person.”
“I am ready.”
The two waited and eventually someone was moving towards their position as Ross tells Chris to get ready.
“Okay, on three...One, two and three!”
Ross and Chris at lightning speed pounces out from the door and onto the person and both immediately stop as it was not an enemy soldier but one of their allies and friend, Alisa.
“Please...I am not your enemy.”
“Oh, it’s you, Alisa.”
“It is I, Chris.”
“Our deepest apologies, Alisa.”
“That’s all right, Ross...That is quite all right.”
“Don’t mention it.”
“I am glad I found you both.”
“What’s the matter?” asked Ross showing signs of concern.
“Uh...”
“By the way, where’s Natsu?”
“Well, we ran into trouble a little while ago...We were ambushed by Jack 4s and Natsu was captured.”
“Captured?”
“She told to escape and I try to save her but...”
“It’s all right, Alisa...We will find her. Right, Chris?”
“That’s right...It would be difficult but we will try...First, we need to find where the others are.”
“Okay.”
“Chris.”
“Sounds good to me.”
“Okay, let’s move then. Hopefully we will find Andy and the others.”
“Let us hope we do not run into trouble ourselves.”
“My thoughts exactly.”
“Alisa.”
“Yes, Ross?”
“Can you scan the area ahead of us?”
“I can.”
“Good...We will bring up the rear.”
“Affirmative.”
Alisa leads the way with Ross and Chris following close behind as they all first decide to find their fellow classmates before proceeding to rescue both Alex Choi and Natsu.
“Let us hope we will find them both. It’s a bit of a winkle but it can be done.”
“Indeed...I wonder if the enemy has any more surprises for us?”
“Let us hope they do not, Chris.”
“Right you are, Ross.”
