Tekken: Rise of the Angel: Chapter 17
At that moment, just as Chris and Alex feared the mischievous duo, Ernest Chan and Adrian Cortez have secretly gone out of the school and took a night train to the city where they decide to go and have some ‘fun’.
“Say, why don’t we go and gamble?”
“Gamble, Ernest? We are not old enough.”
“Not to worry...Everyone can be easily influenced with a bribe.”
“A bribe?”
“Money. Give them money and they will let you in regardless.”
“That’s correct.”
“And I manage to get these from Sean’s lab.”
“Doc’s lab? How?”
“Well, this afternoon...I paid him a visit and ask him about how to do the science homework set this morning.”
“And?”
“I manage to steal this from his lab.”
Ernest shows Adrian what he stole from Sean’s lab and much to Adrian’s surprise it was just a pair of blue coloured glasses.
“Just that?”
“Oh, these are no ordinary glasses, Adrian.”
“Okay, I am listening.”
“They are x-ray glasses capable of seeing through things.”
“Like?”
Ernest then puts those glasses on and looks at Adrian.
“Hmm...Wearing green underwear are you?”
“What? How could you...”
“It sees through things.”
“Amazing.”
“Yes, simply amazing.”
“Like how amazing?”
“Well, let’s see, Adrian...Let’s have a look at your student ID card.”
“Oh, okay.”
Adrian then takes out his student ID card from his wallet and holds it right in front of Ernest’s eyes as he was able to see through it.
“Amazing...I can see the other side.”
“Really? What else can that thing see?”
“Hmm...Show me something is um...One sided.”
“One sided? Like a business card?”
“That’s right...You have one, right?
“Sure...Give me a second.”
Adrian then searches for a business card in his wallet and luckily he had one and shows it to Ernest on the back side that was blank.
“Here you go...What do you see?”
“Well, it’s a Telstra business card.”
“Gosh...Those glasses are truly amazing.”
“Yeah...Imagine what we can do with this in a casino?”
“I am speechless.”
“So, you are gamed?”
“Yeah, I am gamed.”
Both Ernest and Adrian were eager to do some illegal gambling somewhere in the city and they decide to go to a place that no one from their school would look for, the Phoenix Pub.
“So, we are going to the Phoenix Pub.”
“The Phoenix Pub, Ernest? Mad Dog’s place, yes?”
“That’s right, Adrian.”
“Man, would he try to bark us out?”
“Not if we don’t cause any trouble...Let’s act like ‘men’.”
“Right, we are ‘men’.”
It wasn’t long before Ernest and Adrian manage to make their way to the busy suburb of King’s Cross and they make good time to the Phoenix Pub located on Maclaey Street and see the place was as busy as ever.
“Gee...This is it.”
“It’s a good thing we brought these tough men clothes on the weekend.”
“I agree, Adrian...So, shall we?”
“Let’s go.”
Adrian and Ernest were wearing casual clothes with them wearing a black biker-like jacket over their tops.
“There’s the doorman.”
“Yeah, let’s bribe him and get inside.”
“I was wondering, Ernest.”
“What?”
“You didn’t happen to bring another pair, did you?”
“Sorry, buddy but there was only one.”
“Fine...Let’s hurry inside.”
The two approach the main doors to the pub as the doorman stops them right in their path.
“Sorry, but you both look under age to me.”
“Under age?”
“Yeah, do we look under age to you?”
“My, my...Such feisty attitude.”
“Yeah, we are tough men!”
“That’s right, tough men!”
“Tough men? Ha! You both don’t look so tough to me.”
“Oh, really...I bet I can take you big brute on.”
“Show me some ID.”
“ID? We um...We left them at our...”
“Home. We left it at home.”
“That’s right.”
“Both of you?”
“YEAH!”
“Well, no ID...No go.”
“Can’t you allow us to enter?” asked Adrian literally begging to go in.
“I am sorry...Unless you show me some ID I cannot let you both in.”
“Well, in that case...” began Ernest as he takes out his wallet and then takes out a green 100 dollar bill and holds it for the doorman to see. “We give this as substitute to you and that way we are all happy.”
“Is that so? Well, you both certainly know the customs around here...I never saw you, you both were never here nor you gave me this money so enjoy.”
“Thanks...Let’s go, Adrian.”
“Right.”
Therefore, after successfully bribing the doorman, both the mischievous Ernest and Adrian made their way into the main floor of the Phoenix Pub as it was literally packed with people mostly bikers and their parking space was just at the side alley and the bikes there range from Hexers, Freeways, Angels and other top biker models.
“Man, this place is packed.”
“Yeah, from what I can smell...Some of these people hasn’t bathe for some time.”
“How long?”
“I don’t know, Adrian...Come on, let’s find the gambling area.”
“It could be above or below us, Ernest.”
“Well, I guess its above.”
“And I guess its below us.”
“Okay, whoever loses buys the winner a round.”
“Deal.”
“Let’s get to it, Adrian.”
Sure enough, Adrian heads topside and Ernest heads down as Ernest smile as he had found the gambling area as it wasn’t high class but it look legit.
“Hmm...Not too shabby.”
Adrian went up to the top floor but was deny entry by Bryan Fury who was standing guard at the door leading to the pub’s management office.
“Sorry, but this place is off limits to the public.”
“My bad...Where can I um...Find the gambling area.”
“The gambling area? It is at the basement level.”
“Oh, thank you, thank you.”
Adrian then heads back down the way he came as Bryan had a funny feeling he had seen that face somewhere before.
“Hmm...He looks familiar.”
Adrian meanwhile meets up with Ernest at the basement level as Ernest was quite proud of himself.
“So, I guess I won the bet.”
“Oh, I guess you do.”
“So, you go back upstairs and buy me a round.”
“Buy you a round? Of what?”
“Oh, wine, beer or root beer.”
“I think root beer would be just fine.”
“Okay, I will be right back.”
Adrian scoffs as he heads back up to the bar on the main level as Ernest sees a table that was not full and he approaches the table where it had only two bikers playing with the dealer.
“Excuse me.”
“Yes?”
The dealer was none other than Craig Marduk as he was dressed in a dealer’s attire with a white business shirt with a nice black bowtie as well as nice black business pants and shiny black leather shoes.
“May I join in?”
“Of course.”
“I have a friend too...He will be coming down shortly.”
“Of course, we can wait.”
“Hello, gentlemen.” said Ernest with a small smile as he kindly says hi to the two bikers beside him.
“Hi.”
“G’day.”
Ernest sits down as he watches the dealer shuffles the cards in the way a professional does. Sure enough, Adrian comes down with two glasses of root beers in hand as he finds Ernest whistling and sitting comfortably on a stool.
“Hey, what took you so long?”
“Here you are.” replied Adrian scoffing as he irks at Ernest being so slack and bossy.
“Sure, sure.”
Adrian then sits down next to Ernest and hands him his glass of root beer.
“Well, here’s to us.”
“Indeed.”
Both took a quick sip as Adrian puts the glass on the table as Ernest does so at the same time.
“Okay, shall we play?”
“Of course.”
Marduk then passes each card to each player first and then another as Ernest checks his money chips. Finally, the dealer himself puts one face down card in front of him as he turns it as the bikers followed suit as Ernest and Adrian did the same thing.
“Say, how much do we have all in together?”
“I don’t know, Ernest.”
“The amount is 10,000 Australian dollars.”
“That much?”
“Yes...So, you ready to play?”
“I am.”
“First of all, place your bets.”
“Our bets?” asked Adrian scratching the back of his head.
“Yes...Minimal is 50 dollars.”
“Oh, all right.”
“Place your bets.”
The two bikers check their cards and place each 100 dollars on the table.
“It’s our turn, Adrian.”
“I know, I know.”
Adrian looks at his cards as he only has about eleven and Ernest sees that he’s got sixteen and as an extra bonus he could see his opponent’s cards as well as the first card on the deck pile.
“Amazing.”
“Bets?”
“Oh, one hundred dollars.”
“You, young man?”
“I go with fifty.”
“Very well, bets are all down...So, hit?”
“Yes.” replied the first biker goon as Marduk hands him a third card and he decides to stay.
“I will stay.”
“Okay, next.”
“Hit me.”
“Here you go.”
Marduk hands the second biker goon with a third card and when he got it he scoffed and sulks.
“Blast it...Busted.”
“What a shame...Your turn now, young man.”
“Okay, let me think for a second.”
Ernest thinks and glances at the next faced down on the pile and to his luck it was the number he needed exactly.
“Hit me, please.”
Marduk hands the card over to Ernest as he pretends to think it was a bad choice he made as he flips his card for him to look at and eventually he showed a smile on his cheeky face.
“Aha...21. Hurray for me.”
“Nicely done, young man.”
“Well, I guess I might go as well...Hit me.”
“Sure.”
Adrian then looks at the third card he got and much to his surprise it was a Jack meaning he like Ernest has just got 21.
“Well, I don’t believe it.”
“Neither do I...Nice going, Adrian.”
“Thanks.”
“Well, I suppose in this situation you both get half.”
“Nice.”
The two bikers growled in frustration with one grumbling something to himself.
“Beginner’s luck.”
“Yeah, what luck.”
“Wow, we won...Let’s play again.”
Ernest and Adrian continues to play blackjack as they easily won the next game and made both bikers playing alongside them jealous and angry.
“Damn, lost again.”
“Yeah, those youngsters got the better of us again.”
“So, let’s try again.”
“Yeah, again.”
Meanwhile, in the office of Paul Phoenix, Paul himself was watching television and loves watching the Law and Order television series.
“Most interesting.”
Bryan as well as Miguel comes into the office as Miguel heads to the mini-bar to get himself something decent to eat.
“Amigo.”
“Miguel, Bryan.”
“So, still like watching that program, Paul?”
“Yes, it gives me an idea on how the legal system in the world runs.”
“And that we can incorporate those techniques into running our business, right?”
“Right.”
“Paul, Bryan...Like a drink, amigos?”
“Sure, give me a Scotch.”
“Bryan?”
“Whisky.”
“Okay.”
Miguel then starts making both Paul and Bryan a glass of Scotch and Whisky. Once he finished he hands both his buddies their glasses.
“Here you go, amigos.”
“Thanks, Miguel.”
“Thanks.”
“You are welcome.”
Miguel then heads back to the bar and makes himself something to drink as Bryan has a look at the security surveillance monitors.
“Hmm...”
“Say, Bryan...Anything interesting on the monitors?”
“Well, not really...Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves including our guys.”
“Okay.”
“Wait a moment.”
“What’s that?”
“There’s something interesting going on at table 2 down in the gambling area.”
“What is it?” asked Paul sounding curious as he heads to where Bryan was standing as he had his eyes set on the monitor with the label: ‘Table 2, gambling area, Basement’.
“Look...”
“That’s Craig acting as the dealer, yes?”
“Yes, but look at that...Those two young men down there.” Said Bryan pointing them out to Paul as he too sees it.
“Yes, what about them?”
“They have been winning a lot at that table.”
“A lot? Gee, that must be interesting.”
“I will send King down for a quick look as well.”
“Okay.”
Bryan then picks up the two-way radio as apparently Paul, Bryan, Miguel, Craig and King have one and are on a secured channel so they can keep in contact with each other throughout the pub itself.
“King, come here, over.”
“Grrrr.” (King here, what is it, Bryan?)
“Where are you?”
“Grrr...Grrr.” (I am out in the side alley checking on the bikes, over.)
“Okay, head down to the gambling area in the basement and check out the youngsters playing at table 2.”
“Grrr? Grrr.” (Table 2? That’s where Craig is, yes?)
“Affirmative...Check it out and report back to us.”
“Grrr.” (Understood.)
“Well, Paul...Guess we will get the full inside story down at table 2.”
“Of course.”
Paul then goes to the surveillance control board and checks that everything was operational.
“Everything is okay.”
“That’s splendid...I might go down to the main level.”
“Go do that, amigo.”
“Sure, Paul.”
Miguel then finishes his glass of champagne and puts it back on the table before he heads out of the office but checks first to make sure he has his two-way radio with him.
“Later, amigos.”
“Later.”
Bryan continues to look at the surveillance monitors and sees King just at the bottom of the monitor itself.
“There’s King...Or rather the back of him.”
“He is observing those young men, yes?”
“Indeed.”
King observes them as from what he could see they have already won a lot of poker betting chips as the other two players forfeit and gave them to the dealer, Craig himself but right now he was losing badly to those two youngsters.
“My, my...You two are good having won already ten to eleven games with me.”
“I guess we are motivated. Right, Adrian?”
“Yep...Call it intuition.”
“So, shall we continue?”
“Of course, of course.”
“Yeah, let’s get back to it.”
King then heads back up to report this to Paul in person as King comes into the office with Paul and Bryan looking at the monitors.
“Grrr.” (Paul?)
“What is it, buddy?”
“Grrr. Grrr...Grrr.” (Those two youngsters are giving Craig a run for his money...They are winning against him on every game.)
“No kidding.”
“Maybe I should go down and take a look?”
“Yes, go ahead, Bryan. Anything else, King?”
“Grrr. Grrr.” (Well, one of them called the other guy, Adrian.)
“Adrian? Hmm...I have a feeling that name sounds familiar.”
“Grrr?” (What do you mean by that, Paul?)
“I have a look at the info Lee send me a while ago.”
“Grrr.” (Uh, okay.)
“In the meantime, why don’t you fix yourself a drink?”
“Grrr.” (Sure.)
King then heads over to the bar to fix himself a drink while Paul turns on his computer and looks through the information Lee Chaolan send him about Milson’s Point Grammar Academy.
“I just have a hunch about something.”
Paul searched and eventually find a match, Adrian Cortez as Paul shows an evil grin on his face.
“So, one of the students have come waltzing right into my trap.”
“Grrr. Grrr.” (There was another student with him. He had a ponytail.”
“A ponytail?”
“Grrr.” (Yes.)
Paul then checks the computer again and eventually sees one of the students that was close to the small detail King had described.
“Could this be the one? Ernest Chan...”
“Grrr.” (It could be him.)
“There’s always that.”
“Well, let’s see how they play.”
“Grrr?” (You are letting them play?)
“Yes...Let’s see what happens.”
“Grrr.” (Of course.)
Bryan was down in the basement level and observes table 2 from a short distance and sees the boys were playing and winning fair and square but Bryan has a bit of a tiny kind of feeling something was not right.
“Hmm...There’s something fishy about those two. I better keep an eye on them.”
“Bryan, it’s Miguel. Come in, over.”
Bryan picks up his two-way radio and presses the button on the side to answer back.
“Yes, what is it, Miguel?”
“There’s a drunk man out in the alleyway. Would you mind taking care of it?”
“Sure, on my way, amigo.”
Bryan then tells Paul he has to go and take care of some security business, which Paul was completely okay with it.
“Paul, I am going down to do some security duties.”
“Of course, Bryan...We cannot have drunks hanging about in the proximity of our club now can we?”
“Certainly not...Later.”
“Grrr.” (Later, Bryan.)
“Later, King.”
Bryan then heads out of the office and down the stairs to the main level where he makes his way to the door that leads out to the side alleyway where Miguel was.
“Amigo.”
“There’s the drunken man.”
“I will take care of it.”
“Yeah, show him your tough balls.”
“Sure, sure.”
Bryan then approaches the drunken man and tells him to leave the area but when the drunken man gets nasty Bryan then escorts him out of the area in a rather brutally but efficient way and dumps him out onto the street.
“You better head home buddy before I call the cops!”
“Fine...Whatever.” mumbled the drunken man as he wanders off down the street. Bryan smirks as he rejoins with Miguel at their bike parking lot.
“Well, let’s hope he doesn’t come back again.”
“I wager he might not, amigo.”
“Yeah, if he does...Let me know.”
“Si...No one dares to mess with you, Bryan amigo.”
“Damn right...Say, I have been wondering?”
“What, amigo?”
“You interested in signing in for the 7th Iron Fist tournament?”
“I sure am, amigo.”
“Well, I am too.”
“So, is it in three days time, Bryan?”
“Yes, three days from today.”
“Okay.”
“Well, I will be back inside and check the gambling area.”
“Si...Catch you later, amigo.”
Bryan then heads back inside the pub and sees the place was as lively as ever and he was rather happy to see it. He heads down to the gambling area below and sees that Craig was losing chips by the minute.
“Poor Craig.”
Craig Marduk was getting angry and frustrated as he could not believe that two youngsters could beat him in blackjack.
“Okay, my last chips.”
“So, shall we continue to play, sir?”
“If you insist.”
“Okay, let’s play then.”
Craig as well as both Ernest and Adrian place their bets as this time, Craig takes the risk and puts all of his bets into the pot.
“I am all in.”
“Well, if you are going with that. So am I.”
“And I.”
Both Ernest and Adrian too put all their chips into the pot as Craig show a smirk smile on his face.
“This may not be a wise thing to do, youngster.”
“We shall see...Well, hand us the cards.”
“Sure.”
Craig then hands two cards to both Ernest and Adrian and after that Craig hands himself one.
“Okay, hit or stay?”
“Well, let me think for a second.”
Ernest then checks his cards and at the same time uses his x-ray glasses to see that Craig Marduk has two picture cards with one being Jack of diamonds and the other King of clubs.
“Man, he’s got twenty...It might take a miracle to win this.”
“Well, hit or stay?”
“Um...Let me think.”
Ernest then looks at the deck of hands on the deck sorter as Bryan watches the whole time to see if the youngsters were pulling some sort of dirty trick off or something.
“Hmm...Nothing. That is weird.”
“Okay, hit me.”
“You sure?”
“I am sure.”
Craig then hands Ernest another card as he checks it with the other two as his total overall was nineteen, which is just one number below Craig’s total.
“So, hit or stay?”
“Well...”
“Stay?”
“I guess I will um...Hit.”
“Hit?”
“Yes.”
“You are sure about this?”
“I am sure.”
“Oh, okay...Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Craig then hands Ernest his fourth card and he turns it over and reviews to be none other than a 2 of hearts.
“All right...21!”
“NO!”
“My turn.”
“Oh, very well...Hit or stay?”
“I will um...Hit me.”
“Sure.” Grumbled Craig in great disappointment as Bryan sighs and feels quite sorry for Craig.
“Poor Craig...I think he very much prefer heavy wrestling than this.”
Craig hands Adrian a third card and he turns it over and he too jumps up with joy.
“All right...I got 21 as well!”
“NOOOOOOOO!”
Craig thumps the table as he doesn’t even bother turning his cards over as Ernest and Adrian asks him where can they collect their winnings.
“So?”
“So what?!”
“Where can we collect our winnings?”
“Oh, main level behind the counter...Tell the man I send you.”
“Do we take the chips up there?”
“No need to...The overall total is 50,000 Aussie dollars.”
“That many?”
“Yes, just go and tell the guy at the counter.”
“Wow, 50 grand...I am speechless.” uttered Ernest as his brow was dripping with sweat and he takes off his x-ray glasses and puts them on the table as Bryan watches every move he makes.
“Hmm...Glasses.”
“I am beat.”
“So am I.”
“So, Adrian...What do you say we go and collect our winnings?”
“Sure, sure.”
“Let’s go...We will be rich!”
“Yeah, RICH!”
Therefore, the overjoyed Ernest and Adrian decide to head back up to the main level as Craig hands them the cheque of their winnings.
“Take this cheque.”
“Thank you.”
“Shall we go, Ernest?”
“By all means this time...Let’s go.”
The two best friends head back up to the main level to collect their winnings as Craig sobs in despair as Bryan comes to comfort him.
“There, there...Don’t cry. A man never cries.”
“You can say that again.”
King then comes down and sees his best friend was in a terrible mood.
“Grrr. Grrr?” (Hey, Craig...You okay, buddy?)
“I am.”
“Grrr.” (Good to know.)
“Well, maybe it is just a bad day for you.”
“I suppose so, Bryan.”
“Anyway, why don’t I fix you a drink or something?”
“Sure, I like that.”
“What would you like?”
‘Um...”
“Cocktail?”
“Perhaps.”
“A cocktail it is then...Hey, you. Over here!”
‘Yes, Bryan, sir!” uttered a biker who was one of their fellow men.
“Inform the bartender upstairs to fix a cocktail for Craig here.”
“At once, sir.”
“I like a bit of lemon with it.”
“And add a bit of lemon too.”
“Understood, sir.”
The biker then heads straight up to the main level as at that moment, both Ernest and Adrian head out of the pub and down the street towards King’s Cross station with a black suitcase full of cash all in total: $50,000.
“Ha ha!”
“Yeah, we won $50,000!”
“Indeed we did, Adrian!”
“Yeah, we sure did.”
“Yes, thanks, pal.”
“You are welcome, Ernest...So, what are we going to do with it?”
“Do with the money?”
“Yeah...If we get back to school and if anyone finds out about it then...”
“No need to worry...No one would know a thing.”
“You sure of that, man? I am worried.”
“No need to worry, Adrian...Everything would be just fine.”
“Yeah, somehow I doubt that.”
“Fine...Whatever.”
“Say, where are your glasses, Ernest?”
“Glasses? What glasses?”
“The ones you wore.”
“The ones I...” began Ernest as it suddenly hits him as he had accidentally left the x-ray glasses back at the pub. “Oh, crap. I took them off and forgot to put them back on.”
“Well, that is pitiful.”
“You should have reminded me.”
“Well, I thought you remember.”
“It’s your fault.”
“No, it’s yours.”
Both try to put the blame on each other but soon realize it won’t make any difference.
“Come off it...We better get out of here as fast as possible.”
“Agreed...Let’s get out while the getting is good.”
“My thoughts exactly.”
Meanwhile, back at the pub, Bryan examines the glasses that Ernest had accidentally left behind and he was quite fascinated with them.
“This is remarkable...Blue lens, lightweight and also it has a strong and steady frame.”
“Grrr.” (You put them on, yes?)
“Sure, I do, King...That’s what glasses are for.”
“Grrr?” (Are they prescript ones or just plain reading ones?)
“Well, can’t say...Let me examine it.”
“Grrr.” (Okay.)
Bryan then examines it as the biker brings back a cocktail with lemon for the down Craig Marduk.
“Craig, sir.”
“Oh...Thanks, man.”
“It will make you feel better.”
“I am sure it will, Bryan.”
Craig then sits down and enjoys his glass of cocktail as Bryan puts on the glasses and he was amazed by the fact he could see things that you cannot even see with just a pair of normal eyes.
“Amazing.”
“What? What’s amazing?”
“These glasses...I can see things that you cannot see with your normal eyes.”
“You mean my normal eyes, right?”
“Perhaps.”
Bryan then looks at Craig from head to toe and eventually sees something very interesting.
“That’s very peculiar.”
“Peculiar?”
“Yea, you always like to wear boxers with hearts?”
“What?”
Bryan stares at Craig’s muscular hip as he was blushed and deeply embarrassed.
“How could you know?”
“I am not sure.”
“Grrr?” (What is that?)
“I am not sure.”
“What else do you see, Bryan?” asked Craig as his face was still quite red.
“Well, I can see the nice underwear King is wearing.”
“Really?”
“Grrr?” (What?)
“Nice colours you’ve got there, King.”
“Grrr.” (Thanks.) replied King feeling a little embarrassed himself. Paul himself comes down and sees what was all going on.
“Okay, fellows...What are you all talking or should I say gossiping about?”
“Paul.”
“Paul.”
“Grrr.” (Paul.)
“So, what’s up?”
“Well, Paul...Craig is just coming out of his sadness from losing.”
“I see.”
“I know losing is nothing. It is to be expected.”
“True.”
“Yeah, I agree.”
“Grrr.” (Me three.)
“So, Bryan...What’s that you are wearing? Those glasses sure look weird.”
“Yeah, you wouldn’t believe what these pair of glasses could do, Paul.”
“Oh, like...”
“See through things.”
“WHAT? See through things...That is just not true, my friend.”
“Why don’t you put them on and see for yourself?”
“Hmm...I think I will.”
“Here you go.”
Bryan then takes off the x-ray glasses and hands them directly to Paul who puts them on.
“Well, Paul?” asked Bryan asking what he thinks of them.
“Hmm...Not too shabby.”
“I have a bad feeling about those...Maybe...”
“Maybe what, Bryan?”
“You don’t think...”
“Let’s see.”
“What? What? Guys, I am at a loss here.”
“Grrr.” (Me too.)
“Bryan, hand me that deck of cards.”
“Sure.”
Bryan goes to the vacant table 2 and hands the large pile deck of playing cards to Paul as he examines them one by one. Afterwards, Paul clutches his fists tightly and his face grows lobster red.
“THEY...CHEATED ME!”
Paul in a fit of rage takes off the glasses with his left hand and crushes it with his fist and throws it right into the rubbish bin located next to a pot plant.
“THOSE BRATS!”
“Paul, what do you want us to do?”
“Let’s mobilize, Bryan! Find them at all costs! Rally the guys...I WANT THEM FOUND!”
“Understood! Let’s go, guys.”
“Okay.”
“Grrr.” (Sure.)
Bryan then uses his two-way radio and calls Miguel.
“Miguel, you hear me, over?”
“Yes, I hear you, amigo.”
“Where are you?”
“Outside the door leading to where the bikes are parked.”
“Okay, we are going out to catch those two brats.”
“Brats? Yes, I overheard the guys at the front saying they are heading for the train station.”
“Good, let’s go and strap up.”
“Si.”
Sure enough, Bryan, Miguel, Craig and King manages to rally at least 50 of their fellow bikers and the four put on their biker jackets and armed themselves with shotguns and pistols before they got on their top of the line bikes.
“We are good to go, Craig.”
“Good to hear, Miguel.”
“We are pumped and ready for so payback.”
“I hear you, Craig.”
“Grrr!” (Time to rock!)
“Indeed, King.”
“So, Paul is not coming with us?”
“Someone has to stay and manage the pub, Craig.”
“Indeed, Bryan...Indeed.”
“Well, let’s go hunting...HA HA HA HA!” laughed Bryan in his crazy tone as Miguel and the others laugh briefly too.
“Time to roll!”
“AYE!”
Bryan then moves out first in formation followed by Miguel, Craig and King as the rest of the bikers bring up the rear.
“To King’s Cross Station! Hopefully we will catch them in time!”
“How far is it to there, Bryan?”
“Not far...Everyone, keep your eyes peered!”
“Understood.”
“Si.”
“Grrr.” (Understood.)
At that moment, Ernest and Adrian were just about there as the two stops along the way for some night snacks.
“Man, this melon and chocolate chip one tastes great.”
“I would imagine so, Ernest.”
“So, Adrian...What’s yours?”
“Uh...Strawberry.”
“Just that?”
“Just that.”
“It’s rather lame, isn’t it?”
“No, Ernest...I like having simple things.”
“Oh, I see.”
“So, let’s head off to the station then.”
“Why so hasty?”
“I have a bad feeling that the enemy might know and probably on their way to whack us...Or worse.”
“Come off it, Adrian...You worry too much.”
“Perhaps.”
Suddenly, the two of them could hear the sounds of a dozen or more bikes ranging from Freeways, Hexers and Zombie models heading down the street as Adrian felt a chill coming up his spine.
“Oh no.”
“Is that...”
“Yep...Its them. I guess they found about those...”
“Glasses?”
“Yes.”
“We are in deep shit now.”
“Oh no...I think they have spotted us.”
“Yeah, run like hell, man!”
“There they are! AFTER THEM!”
“VAIMOS!”
“CHARGE!”
“Grrr!” (Let’s get them, boys!)
Bryan and his buddies pick up the pace as Ernest and Adrian run like hell as they decide to take refuge by going down in the train station entrance of King’s Cross.
“Bye bye, suckers!”
“You cannot catch us, dogs!”
“We will see about that...Follow my lead!”
“Si!”
Bryan then steers his bike and follows suit by straying onto the pedestrian footpath and follows them down the stairs on his bike while Miguel and the others all follow suit as well. Clearly, it was an insane idea but Bryan thought to himself if Paul was here he would have done the same thing as he did.
“Hey, amigo?”
“Yeah?”
“This is a bad idea, yeah?”
“It won’t be if we can get even with those brats, Miguel!”
“Agreed.”
“I have a score to settle with them...You mind if I take the lead, Bryan?”
“Be my guest, Craig...But don’t get cocky.”
“Indeed. King!”
“Grrr?” (Yes?)
“Follow me, buddy.”
“Grrr.” (Understood.)
“Okay, men...Follow my lead!”
“Everyone...Follow Craig’s lead!” uttered Bryan as all the bikers obeyed his command as Bryan and Miguel slow down for their men behind them to overtake them as Craig and King puts their pedal to the metal.
“CHARGE!”
At that moment, Ernest and Adrian run like they have never ran before as they soon head down to the train platform after showing their student passes to the ticket collector and cower back in his booth as soon as Bryan and his tough bikers showed up.
“Damn those guys are catching up, Adrian!”
“Yeah, don’t look back, man!”
“You can say that again!”
Ernest and Adrian arrive at the train platform but to their bad luck no train has arrived yet.
“Darn it...No train and it doesn’t come in fourteen no...Thirteen minutes.”
“That’s bad.”
“AHA! We got you now, suckers!”
Craig and King comes down in their bikes and once they were on the platform they dismount and prepare to deal with both Ernest and Adrian in hand to hand combat.
“Okay, little brats...I guarantee you both won’t be able to walk after this.”
“Grrr.” (Damn right.)
“Yeah, let’s do this, King...Time to get dirty.”
“Grrr.” (Right.)
“Oh, crap.”
“Yeah, what should we do, Ernest?”
“We um...I hate to say this but we have to fight.”
“Fight?”
“Yeah, with our fists, man.”
“I guess we have no choice.”
Therefore, both Ernest and Adrian put up their fists to fight as a bystander saw the terrible event and quickly dials 000 as it reaches the police service when Z.W.E.I’s loyal men take the call. Once they heard that Z.W.E.I contacts General Alcazar and told him of the situation and although at first, Alcazar was quite cross with two of his own students going out illegally at night and gambling but he would never allow his students to get hurt so he uses his pager and dials 777 as to send it out to certain agents of his he dials one more number followed by the # key. He dials 10, 18 and 20 where it wasn’t long before his three selected agents showed up and they were none other than the famed ‘three musketeers’: Alex Choi, Michael Mendez and Andy Zhang all dressed in their casual clothes but equipped with hand-held weapons, Alex carries a nunchuk similar to the weapon used by his senior Maxi, Michael carries his extendable rod and it was nearly the same weapon as the one used by his fellow friend, Xiba and finally Andy carries his trademark katana as he had it clean a few days ago to make sure the blade likes as strong as ever not to mention he could see his own reflection in it.
“Boys.”
“General, you called us?”
“Indeed, Alex...Michael.”
“General.”
“Andy.”
“General.”
“I will be briefed, boys...I have just received a call from Z.W.E.I.”
“The police commissioner?”
“Yes, Alex...He got a call from a civilian saying he saw two young men being attacked by bikers...Paul Phoenix’s gang.”
“And why did the commissioner called us?”
“Well, the caller described to him that the two young men look errily familiar with resemblance to Ernest Chan and Adrian Cortez.”
“Is that so?”
“I am afraid so, yes.”
“Well, they maybe mischievous and all but they are our classmates we must go and help them.”
“Well spoken, Andy...Now, you best head off to King’s Cross station as fast as you can.”
“Uh, yes...Of course, sir.”
“I will arrange transportation. Meet outside on the street.”
“Understood...Let’s go, guys.”
“Right.”
Sure enough, Alex, Michael and Andy head out of the office of General Alcazar and then head out of the school grounds and onto the street known as Alfred Street.
“Well, here we are roped into some rescue mission.”
“You like it, Mike?”
“I sure do, Andy.”
“That’s good...Man, can’t those two dunderheads ever learn not to cross the Mad Dog?”
“I don’t know, Andy.”
“Well, Alex...You are quite close to them. Can you at least make them come to their senses not to go out at night, gamble and not to mention pissing off Mad Dog Paul Phoenix?”
“Well, I will do my best.”
“I am sure you will.”
Sure enough, Alcazar personally drives a military Honda jeep as he calls out to the boys.
“Okay, hop in, chicos.”
“Yes, sir!”
Therefore, Alex hops into the front passenger seat sitting right next to the general with Andy and Michael bundle into the back.
“All good, sir!”
“You might want to strap tight, boys...I am putting the pedal to the metal.”
“Okay, sir.”
“Yes, sir.”
“He-yah!”
Alcazar stomps on the gas pedal and the jeep roar down Alfred Street like a rocket that has been just ignited.
“We shall get there in no time!”
“Yeah, we will get there all right, sir!”
“You feeling okay, Alex?”
“I am, sir.”
“So am I.”
“And I.”
“Good, we will be there.”
Meanwhile, back at the girl’s school dormitory, Sophie was lying in her bed looking up at the ceiling while Shirley surfs the net on her laptop.
“Say, there’s the 7th Iron Fist tournament sign in.”
“A sign in?”
“Yes, Sophie...Things have change. If you wish to participate you can do it online.”
“Indeed.”
“So, I am going to enter...Not only to help me in strengthening my own skill. I think I would also have the chance to avenge Simon’s death.”
“If you say so, Shirley.”
“I am going to sign up.”
“You are? Yes...Just to fill it out and submit. It’s easy as pie.”
“Of course.”
“So, you considering to sign up as well?”
“Uh, yes. I will do it a bit later.”
“Oh...Okay.”
Shirley then signs herself up for the 7th Iron Fist tournament as she sighs afterwards.
“Well, that’s that...I am in.”
“Okay, my turn.”
“So, Sophie.”
“Yes?”
“What is your purpose for signing up?”
“Well...To bring my father to justice.”
“I guess our goals are the same.”
“Yes.”
“Well, I am off to bed...Once you are done just turn it off.”
“Okay.”
“Say, I wonder if the others are signing up?”
“Well, I am not sure, Shirley.”
“Maybe I will go and tell them all.”
“What about the boys?”
“The boys? Well, I will ask Chris or maybe Sam to pass the word.”
“Hmm...Good idea.”
“I think I might go and tell them now.”
“Okay, night then, Shirley.”
“Night, Sophie.”
Meanwhile, back at King’s Cross station, both Ernest and Adrian have got their hands with the G.F.H bikers as they dismount from their bikers or hogs and attack the two young men from all sides with their powerful fists and melee weapons ranging from baseball bats to crowbars. Ernest and Adrian were in a lot of trouble as Bryan, Miguel and Craig move in have some quality time with them.
“Come on, fellows...Let’s get these brats while the getting is good.”
“Si, Bryan.”
“Indeed...I have a personal score to settle with you.”
Craig grabs a hold of Ernest by the neck and holds him up high with him struggling. Afterwards, he throws him down the ground hard hurting him badly.
“That’s for cheating on me, sucker!”
“OW!”
Adrian gets clobbered bad by Bryan Fury and Miguel Rojo as King also joins in the fray.
“Grrr!” (That’s for my friend, Craig!)
“OUCH!”
“Now, tag throws, lads!”
“Si.”
“Grrr.” (Understood.)
Miguel and King grabs Adrian by his shoulders and throws him head down first onto the hard surface of the platform.
“UGH!”
“HA HA! That will teach you not to mess with us!”
“Grrrr!” (Indeed!)
Ernest and Adrian get back on their feet attempt to continue fighting but their lack of skill and experience were simply no match for the four tough Tekken fighters who have years of skill and experience not to mention intuition on their side. The two young boys were beaten and knock silly with them lying flat on their backs.
“Damn...It looks like game over for us, Ernest.”
“Yeah, I was just going to say that too, Adrian.”
Ernest and Adrian could barely get up as Bryan picks up the suitcase of money that the two young lads eventually ‘won’.
“So, finders keepers...Our money.”
“No...You thieves!”
“We are not thieves!” uttered Bryan loudly and shows an evil grin on his face. “You cheated! So, who are the real thieves then?! You! You cheated on my friend and now you both are going to pay the price!”
“Si!”
“Yeah!”
“Grrr!” (Indeed.)
The four of them head towards them ready to finish them off as suddenly someone tosses a tear gas grenade down from the stairs and smoke begins to fill up the whole platform.
“What the...What’s this, amigo?”
“It’s gas, Miguel!”
“Man, I am suffocating!”
“Grrr!” (Me too!)
“All right! Who do you think you busters are?! Messing with our friends!”
“What?”
Andy Zhang charges down the stairs with his katana as the sight of him quickly made all the bikers cower in fear before him.
“I am sick of weaklings...COME!”
Bryan, Miguel, Craig and King turn to face him as they have encounter with him before and were not surprise to see him.
“Well, well...Andy Zhang, is it?”
“The one and only.”
“You have a lot of nerve showing up...Let me ask you something?”
“Shoot.”
“Why do you even bother saving these two idiots of yours? Obviously they are first class idiots...Wouldn’t you say so, lads?”
“Si.”
“Yeah.”
“Grrr.” (Indeed.)
“Well, they maybe but they are still our friends.”
“Indeed. You came alone then your arrogance would be your downfall.”
“Well, I, of course would never come alone.”
“Is that so?”
“Sure...Mike, Alex!”
“Here!”
“Present and accounted for!”
“Hmm...”
Michael Mendez and Alex Choi reveal themselves as they were now standing just behind Andy and moving forward. Michael stood on Andy’s left as he was wielding a bo-staff and Alex standing on Andy’s right was armed with a nightstick.
“The cavalry is here.”
“Indeed.”
“Guys, you okay?” asked Michael.
“Yeah, we will live, Mike.”
“Sure.”
“We will talk later...Just stay put.”
“Uh, okay.”
“So, guys...Shall we give our biker buddies a warm welcome?”
“Right behind you, Andy.”
“Good to hear that, Mike. What about you, Alex?”
“I am gamed too.”
“Good...Let’s go.”
“ATTACK!”
Andy, Michael and Alex attacks Bryan and his bikers as Bryan orders them to hold their ground, which they all apparently obeyed. Andy does not kill his enemies but to disarm them and that alone was enough to make their flee like the cowards that Andy assumes.
“Can’t any of you dudes provide me a decent challenge?”
Michael and Alex felt rather amused that Andy often likes to show off.
“Well, Andy is getting all the attention he is.”
“He always likes to do that, Mike.”
“I can imagine.”
Michael provides cover as Alex moves to where the injured Ernest and Adrian were as he and Michael who soon joined him help their injured friends to their feet.
“Still breathing?”
“Sure I am, Alex...Thanks.”
“Anytime.”
“Adrian, you okay?”
“I am fine...I didn’t suffer as much pain as poor Ernest did.”
“I can imagine.”
“I will help him.”
“Well, I could go and help Andy.”
“Yes, you go and do that, Mike.”
“Wish me luck, Alex...Take them back to the general’s vehicle.”
“Understood.”
So, without wasting time, Alex and Adrian helps Ernest up the platform steps and ready to head out to the street where General Alcazar was waiting in his vehicle. Along the way, Ernest jerks away and demands to know where was the money.
“Money? Where’s the money?!”
“What...”
“The money, man! Where is it?!”
“Forget about the money, man!”
“Adrian is right, Ernest...Leave it at that!”
“But after all we have worked so hard for...”
“Let’s go!”
“I want my money!”
Alex and Adrian move the reluctant Ernest up the stairs as Alex eventually knock Ernest spark out with his fist and after that he apologizes to Adrian.
“Sorry about that, Adrian.”
“No, Alex...I understand. I would have done the same in your shoes.”
“Glad to hear that.”
The two hustle the unconscious Ernest to the vehicle and Adrian sees the discipline master himself behind the wheel as the power window lowers down showing Alcazar’s moody face.
“Adrian.”
“General, I um...”
“We can talk later...Get in the back. Alex, would you help him?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Say, Alex...Are Andy and Michael still down there fending with the dogs?”
“In a way, sir.”
“Well, we will give them another five or so minutes because this is Paul’s turf and it would be a bad idea to stay here much longer.”
“I couldn’t agree with you more, general...But I don’t think I saw Paul Phoenix among the bikers whom attacked us.”
“Really? Well, in any case that Paul must be back at his kennel with his feet tuck above his desk smoking a cigar or something.”
“You really have a weird sense of sarcasm, sir.”
“Well, it keeps me happy, Alex.”
“Yes, sir.”
Alex and Adrian helps the unconscious Ernest first in the back as Adrian and Alex follow suit with Alex shutting the door right behind him.
“Well, I should have asked earlier, Alex...Why is Ernest out cold? Did the bikers got to him or something?”
“Uh, no.”
“No?”
“Well, you see...”
“Spit it out, Adrian!”
“The thing is...”
“I did, sir.”
“You did, Alex?”
“Yes...I knock him out as he was getting a bit out of control over some money he wants back.”
“Hmm...I see.”
“I should not have done that, sir...It was a...”
“No, no...If I was in your position, Alex. I would have done the exact same thing as you did.”
“You would have, sir?”
“Of course.”
“Uh, right.”
“I sure hope your friends are doing well down there.”
“Me too...I have been thinking. Maybe I should go back and help them.”
“Perhaps, Alex...But I am sure they will be just fine.”
“Well, if you say so, sir.”
At that moment, Andy and Michael had manage to temporary hold back the enemy gang members and the main leaders but have a little trouble fending off Bryan Fury. Bryan was a cyborg and he can take more damage than the average ‘man’. Andy and Michael struck their powerful blows and Bryan seems to shrug them right off.
“Ha ha ha!” laughed Bryan in his crazy tone of voice.
“Man, this guy is tough.”
“You don’t say, Andy.”
“Come on...You cannot hope to defeat me. I have cybernetic armour all over my torso.”
“Oh, is that right?” asked Andy in a cheeky way as without hesitation he yank his foot right into Bryan’s balls, which no doubt cause him great pain and cries out in agony.
“OW!”
“You should think about having those built in cybernetic as well...But going to the men’s room would be a little difficult.” muttered Andy sounding sarcastic, which only angers Bryan Fury further.
“YOU FIEND!”
Bryan draws out his Colt Python pistol as Michael knew how powerful that gun was as one time, their good inventor and friend, Sean Gray told them that the weapon is considered very powerful and deadly. It has six rounds and each shot can instantly kill a person without wearing any body armor especially if the bullet hits right in the vital areas of your body.
“Oh no...Andy!”
“Huh?”
“Behind you!”
“Take this!”
Bryan open fires as Andy manages to dodge out of the way barely with the bullet only grazing the right side of his face, which he felt a bit of a sharp pain when the python bullet grazed him.
“Ugh!”
“Andy.”
“I am fine, Mike...Let’s get out of here.”
“Right.”
Both Andy and Mike drop their last tear gas canister onto the platform and instantly tear gas fills up the whole station platform. Bryan could not see anything through all the smoke and he had no trouble breathing the tear gas as his new cybernetic systems help him withstand it for quite a long considerable of time but at least Andy and Michael manages to make their escape and meets with Alcazar, Alex and the others whom were all already waiting in the vehicle.
“Boys!”
“We are good to go, sir.”
“Yeah, the crazy cyborg would be on our tail shortly.”
“Of course. Hang on!”
Alcazar then starts up the vehicle as Alex notices Andy was hurt in the face with a grazed cut across the right side of his somewhat handsome face.
“Andy, your face!”
“Don’t be so concern, Alex...I am fine. It’s a little cut that’s all. Chloe can patch me up.”
“Well, if you say so.”
“Thanks anyway...For looking out for me. I would have done the same for you.”
“Glad to hear it, buddy.”
“General.”
“Yes, Andy?”
“You think the bikers might come after us?”
“Not if we cross the bridge first...I have my guys establish a perimeter on the other side of the bridge where Milson’s Point is so once we get through we will be safe.”
“I am sure.”
It wasn’t long before they get themselves back on Bradfield Highway and travel across the not so busy Harbour Bridge and much to their surprise no bikers were chasing them.
“Strange...No enemies on our tail.”
“That’s a good thing, right sir?”
“Indeed, Michael...We should be back at school in no time.”
Sure enough, they cross the bridge and the boys sees a small patrol of Picaro soldiers were stationed nearby and were armed as they salute to their general and the boys as they went pass.
“You sure know how to coordinate a defense strategy, sir.”
“Well, maybe I will teach you boys a thing or two about that.”
“That would be good.” replied Alex showing a casual smile on his face.
“Indeed. Wouldn’t you say so, Andy?”
“Of course, Mike! I love for you to give us a pointer or two, sir!”
“Of course...Perhaps next weekend.”
“Okay, sir.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Indeed, sir.”
“Now, Adrian.”
“Uh, yes...General?”
“I want you to go to the infirmary and get checked out.”
“That’s an order, sir?”
“Yes, Adrian...That is an order.” replied Alcazar speaking in a more calmer tone of voice.
“Understood.”
“I will take Ernest to the infirmary as well, sir.”
“Thank you, Alex...Adrian.”
“Yes, sir?”
“You help Alex.”
“Understood, sir.”
“Ah, here we are...Home sweet home.”
Alcazar parks the vehicle in the staff parking lot as Andy and Michael hops out first.
“Well, off to bed, lads...You can write me a full briefing of what happen when you have time.”
“And when do we give it to you, sir?”
“By Friday.”
“Understood.”
Andy and Michael head back to their dormitory while Alex and Adrian helps Ernest to the infirmary where Chloe was as she was in her infirmary office taking a short nap from work. She eventually talks in her sleep as she dreams one day she would become a well-known nurse.
“One day...One day I hope I become a great well-know nurse one day.”
“Ahem.”
Someone knocks on the door as it jerks Chloe wide awake.
“What?”
“Hi there, Chloe...Sorry for disturbing you.”
“No, it’s quite all right, Alex. How can I help you?”
“I need you to look after Ernest and Adrian.”
“Sure...What’s their condition? Any injuries?”
“Bruises and lacerations...Maybe a few broken bones.”
“I will see to it at once.”
Suddenly, Andy enters the infirmary as his best friend, Michael reminds him to have Chloe check on the cut on his handsome face.
“Evening, all.”
“Andy. What fair wind brings you here?”
“I just remember when I was on my way back to the dorm to have this cut on my face checked up.”
“Well, it’s a good thing you remember.”
“True.”
“Have a seat and let me take a look at it.”
“Uh, Chloe.”
“Yes, Alex?”
“I will take my leave now and let you do your um...”
“Of course...Thanks, Alex. Good night.”
“Night, Chloe. Andy.”
“Night, buddy.”
“Adrian.”
“Night to you, Alex.”
Alex then heads off as he head back to his dormitory he met with General Alcazar who was out for a late night walk around the school grounds. He often does that as it helps his unwind and clear his thoughts.
“Evening, sir.”
“Alex, what a surprise.”
“You out for a night walk, sir?”
“Yes, I love to do them at nights...A walk around to make sure everything is good and helps me unwind.”
“I see.”
“Well, young lad...You have quite a night so best head off to bed for another school day tomorrow.”
“Of course...Uh, general.”
“Yes, Alex?”
“There’s something I would like to ask you.”
“Okay, shoot.”
“Is it possible that I could switch my dormitory roommate?”
“Your dormitory roommate?”
“Yes...Is that possible, sir?”
“Well, it is possible...Perhaps you can tell me about that in the morning?”
“Uh, okay.”
“Very well...Good night, sir.”
“Night, Alex.”
Alex heads off to bed as he first takes a hot shower and after that he catches into his bed clothes and hops into bed.
“What a night.”
Meanwhile, Andy was patched up with a bandage patch on his face.
“There...You never look better.”
“Thanks, Chloe.”
“Well, you better head off to bed then.”
“Of course.”
“While I tend to these patients of mine.”
“Understood...Night, Chloe.”
“Night, Andy.”
Andy heads off back to the dormitories as Adrian was given a general checkup by Chloe. He was lying down on one of the patient beds and beside him was Ernest who was still unconscious.
“So, do you feel any pain, Adrian?”
“Uh, not really...Just a few bruises and all.”
“Do you find it trouble to breath or anything? Any places feel numb?”
“Well, just my chest.”
“All right...I have some pain sooth cream and that would ease the bruises and pain.”
“Uh, okay.”
Chloe gets the sooth pain relief cream from out of her chest of drawers when suddenly Ernest wakes up as he felt a terrific headache with him wincing from side to side.
“Ow, my head.”
“Ah, Ernest...You have finally come back to the land of the living.”
“Land of the living, Adrian...Ha ha. Very funny.”
“Ernest.”
“Yes, Chloe?”
Ernest was admired by the way Chloe dressed in her nurse uniform with a blue top, long blue trousers with boots and a white doctor’s coat.
“Wow, she looks hot in that outfit.” said Ernest quietly to himself as Chloe has a feeling Ernest was talking about her sexy looks.
“I see you like the way I am dressed, Ernest. Ain’t that right?”
“Huh...How did you...”
“I can tell from the expression on your face.”
“You can do that?”
“I am a doctor and I study a bit of counseling and the way people show their expressions from sad to happy and many other types of the way they express themselves.”
“Oh, I see.”
“So, do you feel any physical pain?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“Where?”
“All over, Chloe...My bones hurt and my muscles are all tensed up.”
“Well, I will probably have to take a X-ray scan of your whole body.”
“A X-ray scan?”
“Yes...To see if you have any broken bones and all.”
“Oh, all right.”
“Perhaps a cat scan too, Ernest.”
“A cat scan?”
“Yes...Adrian, I recommend you have one, too.”
“What? Me?”
“Yes...As your nurse and doctor. I recommend you have one. No questions asked.”
“But, but...”
“No buts.”
“Oh, all right.”
“Ernest?”
“Well, that’s fine with me, too.”
“Okay, Ernest...Wait a moment while I get the X-ray machine started.”
“Uh, okay.”
“Hey, Chloe?”
“Yes, Adrian?”
“Can I...I mean may I go to the bathroom?”
“Sure...It’s just down the hall and the first door on your left.”
“Thanks.”
Adrian then gets out of bed and heads to the bathroom to wash up and also do his ‘business’. Chloe looks at her watch as it was getting close to 2300 hours.
“Well, I think I would wrap up about quarter to midnight.”
“You would, Chloe?”
“Yes, Ernest...There’s still school tomorrow if you have not forgotten.”
“Sure...Of course not.”
“Well, let’s get you to the x-ray room, sure we?”
“Of course.”
“Okay, I will help you.”
“Thanks.”
